¹⁹ And Jehovah saw `it', and abhorred `them', Because of the provocation of his sons and his daughters.

⁴⁰ Therefore was the wrath of Jehovah kindled against his people, And he abhorred his inheritance.

² Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth; for Jehovah hath spoken: I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me.

¹⁴ And the anger of Jehovah was kindled against Israel, and he delivered them into the hands of spoilers that despoiled them; and he sold them into the hands of their enemies round about, so that they could not any longer stand before their enemies.

¹⁶ So because thou art lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spew thee out of my mouth.

⁸ And I cut off the three shepherds in one month; for my soul was weary of them, and their soul also loathed me.

² You only have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore I will visit upon you all your iniquities.

³ Shall two walk together, except they have agreed?

⁶ And he hath violently taken away his tabernacle, as if it were of a garden; he hath destroyed his place of assembly: Jehovah hath caused solemn assembly and sabbath to be forgotten in Zion, And hath despised in the indignation of his anger the king and the priest.

²¹ The incense that ye burned in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, ye and your fathers, your kings and your princes, and the people of the land, did not Jehovah remember them, and came it not into his mind?

²² so that Jehovah could not longer bear, because of the evil of your doings, and because of the abominations which ye have committed; therefore is your land become a desolation, and an astonishment, and a curse, without inhabitant, as it is this day.

²³ Because ye have burned incense, and because ye have sinned against Jehovah, and have not obeyed the voice of Jehovah, nor walked in his law, nor in his statutes, nor in his testimonies; therefore this evil is happened unto you, as it is this day.

¹⁵ What hath my beloved to do in my house, seeing she hath wrought lewdness `with' many, and the holy flesh is passed from thee? when thou doest evil, then thou rejoicest.

⁶ I said, Ye are gods, And all of you sons of the Most High.

⁷ Nevertheless ye shall die like men, And fall like one of the princes.

⁵⁹ When God heard `this', he was wroth, And greatly abhorred Israel;

³ For the wicked boasteth of his heart's desire, And the covetous renounceth, `yea', contemneth Jehovah.

⁴ For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: Evil shall not sojourn with thee.

¹¹ And I will set my tabernacle among you: and my soul shall not abhor you.
