¹ Cast thy bread upon the waters; for thou shalt find it after many days.

¹⁷ He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto Jehovah, And his good deed will he pay him again.

⁴² And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only, in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you he shall in no wise lose his reward.

¹⁰ for God is not unrighteous to forget your work and the love which ye showed toward his name, in that ye ministered unto the saints, and still do minister.

⁶ In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thy hand; for thou knowest not which shall prosper, whether this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good.

⁸ For he that soweth unto his own flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth unto the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap eternal life.

⁹ And let us not be weary in well-doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

¹⁰ So then, as we have opportunity, let us work that which is good toward all men, and especially toward them that are of the household of the faith.

²⁰ Blessed are yet that sow beside all waters, that send forth the feet of the ox and the ass.

¹ Blessed is he that considereth the poor: Jehovah will deliver him in the day of evil.

² Jehovah will preserve him, and keep him alive, And he shall be blessed upon the earth; And deliver not thou him unto the will of his enemies.

⁶ But this `I say,' He that soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he that soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

¹⁴ and thou shalt be blessed; because they have not `wherewith' to recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed in the resurrection of the just.

⁸ But the noble deviseth noble things; and in noble things shall he continue.

²⁴ There is that scattereth, and increaseth yet more; And there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but `it tendeth' only to want.

²⁵ The liberal soul shall be made fat; And he that watereth shall be watered also himself.

⁷ If there be with thee a poor man, one of thy brethren, within any of thy gates in thy land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not harden thy heart, nor shut thy hand from thy poor brother;

⁸ but thou shalt surely open thy hand unto him, and shalt surely lend him sufficient for his need `in that' which he wanteth.

⁹ Beware that there be not a base thought in thy heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand; and thine eye be evil against thy poor brother, and thou give him nought; and he cry unto Jehovah against thee, and it be sin unto thee.

¹⁰ Thou shalt surely give him, and thy heart shall not be grieved when thou givest unto him; because that for this thing Jehovah thy God will bless thee in all thy work, and in all that thou puttest thy hand unto.

¹¹ For the poor will never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt surely open thy hand unto thy brother, to thy needy, and to thy poor, in thy land.

⁵ They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.

⁶ He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing seed for sowing, Shall doubtless come again with joy, bringing his sheaves `with him'. Psalm 127 A Song of Ascents; of Solomon.

⁴⁰ And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it unto one of these my brethren, `even' these least, ye did it unto me.

¹³ And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you.

⁹ He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; For he giveth of his bread to the poor.

¹⁸ The wicked earneth deceitful wages; But he that soweth righteousness `hath' a sure reward.
