⁹ And he said, If now I have found favor in thy sight, O Lord, let the Lord, I pray thee, go in the midst of us; for it is a stiffnecked people; and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for thine inheritance.

¹² Blessed is the nation whose God is Jehovah, The people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.

⁹ For Jehovah's portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance.

⁹ And Jehovah said unto Moses, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiffnecked people:

¹² And Jehovah shall inherit Judah as his portion in the holy land, and shall yet choose Jerusalem.

¹⁶ The portion of Jacob is not like these; for he is the former of all things; and Israel is the tribe of his inheritance: Jehovah of hosts is his name.

¹⁴ For Jehovah will not cast off his people, Neither will he forsake his inheritance.

⁶² He gave his people over also unto the sword, And was wroth with his inheritance.

⁹ Save thy people, and bless thine inheritance: Be their shepherd also, and bear them up for ever. Psalm 29 A Psalm of David.

²⁰ teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.

⁴ Because I knew that thou art obstinate, and thy neck is an iron sinew, and thy brow brass;

⁴ For Jehovah hath chosen Jacob unto himself, `And' Israel for his own possession.

¹¹ For thy name's sake, O Jehovah, Pardon mine iniquity, for it is great.

¹⁹ Pardon, I pray thee, the iniquity of this people according unto the greatness of thy lovingkindness, and according as thou hast forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.

¹³ Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found favor in thy sight, show me now thy ways, that I may know thee, to the end that I may find favor in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people.

¹⁴ And he said, My presence shall go `with thee', and I will give thee rest.

¹⁵ And he said unto him, If thy presence go not `with me', carry us not up hence.

¹⁶ For wherein now shall it be known that I have found favor in thy sight, I and thy people? is it not in that thou goest with us, so that we are separated, I and thy people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth?

¹⁷ And Jehovah said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken; for thou hast found favor in my sight, and I know thee by name.

³ unto a land flowing with milk and honey: for I will not go up in the midst of thee, for thou art a stiffnecked people, lest I consume thee in the way.

⁴ And when the people heard these evil tidings, they mourned: and no man did put on him his ornaments.

⁵ And Jehovah said unto Moses, Say unto the children of Israel, Ye are a stiffnecked people; if I go up into the midst of thee for one moment, I shall consume thee: therefore now put off thy ornaments from thee, that I may know what to do unto thee.

⁵ Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be mine own possession from among all peoples: for all the earth is mine:
