⁵ For thou art not sent to a people of a strange speech and of a hard language, but to the house of Israel;

² Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me.

¹⁹ Thou shalt not see the fierce people, a people of a deep speech that thou canst not comprehend, of a strange tongue that thou canst not understand.

⁵ He appointed it in Joseph for a testimony, When he went out over the land of Egypt, `Where' I heard a language that I knew not.

¹¹ Nay, but by `men of' strange lips and with another tongue will he speak to this people;

⁶ not to many peoples of a strange speech and of a hard language, whose words thou canst not understand. Surely, if I sent thee to them, they would hearken unto thee.

² Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee.

³ So Jonah arose, and went unto Nineveh, according to the word of Jehovah. Now Nineveh was an exceeding great city, of three days' journey.

⁴ And Jonah began to enter into the city a day's journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown.

¹⁷ delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom I send thee,

¹⁸ to open their eyes, that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive remission of sins and an inheritance among them that are sanctified by faith in me.
