¹ And it came to pass in the sixth year, in the sixth `month', in the fifth `day' of the month, as I sat in my house, and the elders of Judah sat before me, that the hand of the Lord Jehovah fell there upon me.

¹ And it came to pass in the seventh year, in the fifth `month', the tenth `day' of the month, that certain of the elders of Israel came to inquire of Jehovah, and sat before me.

¹ Then came certain of the elders of Israel unto me, and sat before me.

² In the fifth `day' of the month, which was the fifth year of king Jehoiachin's captivity,

³ the word of Jehovah came expressly unto Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the river Chebar; and the hand of Jehovah was there upon him.

³¹ And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but do them not; for with their mouth they show much love, but their heart goeth after their gain.

³³ I coveted no man's silver, or gold, or apparel.

⁷ For the priest's lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth; for he is the messenger of Jehovah of hosts.

¹ In the five and twentieth year of our captivity, in the beginning of the year, in the tenth `day' of the month, in the fourteenth year after that the city was smitten, in the selfsame day, the hand of Jehovah was upon me, and he brought me thither.

¹ The hand of Jehovah was upon me, and he brought me out in the Spirit of Jehovah, and set me down in the midst of the valley; and it was full of bones.

¹⁷ It came to pass also in the twelfth year, in the fifteenth `day' of the month, that the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

¹ And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the third `month', in the first `day' of the month, that the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

¹⁷ And it came to pass in the seven and twentieth year, in the first `month', in the first `day' of the month, the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

¹ In the tenth year, in the tenth `month', in the twelfth `day' of the month, the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

¹ And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the first `day' of the month, that the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

¹ Again, in the ninth year, in the tenth month, in the tenth `day' of the month, the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

⁴ Therefore speak unto them, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Every man of the house of Israel that taketh his idols into his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to the prophet; I Jehovah will answer him therein according to the multitude of his idols;

²² And the hand of Jehovah was there upon me; and he said unto me, Arise, go forth into the plain, and I will there talk with thee.

¹⁴ So the Spirit lifted me up, and took me away; and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; and the hand of Jehovah was strong upon me.

¹² Then the Spirit lifted me up, and I heard behind me the voice of a great rushing, `saying', Blessed be the glory of Jehovah from his place.
