¹¹ And God said, Let the earth put forth grass, herbs yielding seed, `and' fruit-trees bearing fruit after their kind, wherein is the seed thereof, upon the earth: and it was so.

⁷ For the land which hath drunk the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them for whose sake it is also tilled, receiveth blessing from God:

³⁰ But if God doth so clothe the grass of the field, which to-day is, and to-morrow is cast into the oven, `shall he' not much more `clothe' you, O ye of little faith?

⁸ Who covereth the heavens with clouds, Who prepareth rain for the earth, Who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.

¹⁴ He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, And herb for the service of man; That he may bring forth food out of the earth,

¹⁵ And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, `And' oil to make his face to shine, And bread that strengtheneth man's heart.

¹⁶ The trees of Jehovah are filled `with moisture', The cedars of Lebanon, which he hath planted;

¹⁷ Where the birds make their nests: As for the stork, the fir-trees are her house.

⁹ Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it, Thou greatly enrichest it; The river of God is full of water: Thou providest them grain, when thou hast so prepared the earth.

¹⁰ Thou waterest its furrows abundantly; Thou settlest the ridges thereof: Thou makest it soft with showers; Thou blessest the springing thereof.

¹¹ Thou crownest the year with thy goodness; And thy paths drop fatness.

¹² They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness; And the hills are girded with joy.

¹³ The pastures are clothed with flocks; The valleys also are covered over with grain; They shout for joy, they also sing. Psalm 66 For the Chief Musician. A song, a Psalm.

²⁹ And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb yielding seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for food:

⁸ For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, that spreadeth out its roots by the river, and shall not fear when heat cometh, but its leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

¹² Can a fig tree, my brethren, yield olives, or a vine figs? Neither `can' salt water yield sweet.

⁴³ For there is no good tree that bringeth forth corrupt fruit; nor again a corrupt tree that bringeth forth good fruit.

⁴⁴ For each tree is known by its own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.

²⁸ The earth beareth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear.

¹⁶ By their fruits ye shall know them. Do `men' gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

¹⁷ Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but the corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

¹⁸ A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

¹⁹ Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

²⁰ Therefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

¹⁰ And even now the axe lieth at the root of the trees: every tree therefore that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

³ And he shall be like a tree planted by the streams of water, That bringeth forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also doth not wither; And whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

⁵ As for the earth, out of it cometh bread; And underneath it is turned up as it were by fire.

¹⁶ And Jehovah God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:

⁹ And out of the ground made Jehovah God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

⁵ And no plant of the field was yet in the earth, and no herb of the field had yet sprung up; for Jehovah God had not caused it to rain upon the earth: and there was not a man to till the ground;
