⁸ And he removed from thence unto the mountain on the east of Beth-el, and pitched his tent, having Beth-el on the west, and Ai on the east: and there he builded an altar unto Jehovah, and called upon the name of Jehovah.

³¹ The children of Benjamin also `dwelt' from Geba `onward', at Michmash and Aija, and at Beth-el and the towns thereof,

²⁶ And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enosh. Then began men to call upon the name of Jehovah.

¹⁹ And he called the name of that place Beth-el. But the name of the city was Luz at the first.

³³ And `Abraham' planted a tamarisk tree in Beer-sheba, and called there on the name of Jehovah, the Everlasting God.

² unto the church of God which is at Corinth, `even' them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called `to be' saints, with all that call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in every place, their `Lord' and ours:

¹² For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek: for the same `Lord' is Lord of all, and is rich unto all that call upon him:

¹³ for, Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

¹⁴ How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

²¹ And it shall be, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

³² And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of Jehovah shall be delivered; for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be those that escape, as Jehovah hath said, and among the remnant those whom Jehovah doth call.

²⁸ He is come to Aiath, he is passed through Migron; at Michmash he layeth up his baggage;

⁴ Then called I upon the name of Jehovah: O Jehovah, I beseech thee, deliver my soul.

²² and Beth-arabah, and Zemaraim, and Beth-el,

¹⁷ And there was not a man left in Ai or Beth-el, that went not out after Israel: and they left the city open, and pursued after Israel.

³ So Joshua arose, and all the people of war, to go up to Ai: and Joshua chose out thirty thousand men, the mighty men of valor, and sent them forth by night.

² And Joshua sent men from Jericho to Ai, which is beside Beth-aven, on the east side of Beth-el, and spake unto them, saying, Go up and spy out the land. And the men went up and spied out Ai.

¹⁵ And Jacob called the name of the place where God spake with him, Beth-el.

¹⁶ And they journeyed from Beth-el; and there was still some distance to come to Ephrath: and Rachel travailed, and she had hard labor.

³ and let us arise, and go up to Beth-el; and I will make there an altar unto God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went.

⁴ unto the place of the altar, which he had made there at the first: and there Abram called on the name of Jehovah.
