⁶ But Abram said unto Sarai, Behold, thy maid is in thy hand; do to her that which is good in thine eyes. And Sarai dealt hardly with her, and she fled from her face.

⁸ And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdsmen and thy herdsmen; for we are brethren.

⁹ Is not the whole land before thee? separate thyself, I pray thee, from me. If `thou wilt take' the left hand, then I will go to the right. Or if `thou take' the right hand, then I will go to the left.

⁵ And Zedekiah the king said, Behold, he is in your hand; for the king is not he that can do anything against you.

⁴ If the spirit of the ruler rise up against thee, leave not thy place; for gentleness allayeth great offences.

¹⁹ A servant will not be corrected by words; For though he understand, he will not give heed.

⁸ As a bird that wandereth from her nest, So is a man that wandereth from his place.

¹⁷ Better is a dinner of herbs, where love is, Than a stalled ox and hatred therewith.

¹⁸ A wrathful man stirreth up contention; But he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife.

¹ A soft answer turneth away wrath; But a grievous word stirreth up anger.

²⁹ He that is slow to anger is of great understanding; But he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.

⁴¹ And he gave them into the hand of the nations; And they that hated them ruled over them.

⁴² Their enemies also oppressed them, And they were brought into subjection under their hand.

⁶ And Jehovah said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thy hand; only spare his life.

¹⁵ Now when Pharaoh heard this thing, he sought to slay Moses. But Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh, and dwelt in the land of Midian: and he sat down by a well.

¹⁰ And the servant took ten camels, of the camels of his master, and departed, having all goodly things of his master's in his hand. And he arose, and went to Mesopotamia, unto the city of Nahor.

⁷ Ye husbands, in like manner, dwell with `your wives' according to knowledge, giving honor unto the woman, as unto the weaker vessel, as being also joint-heirs of the grace of life; to the end that your prayers be not hindered.
