¹⁶ And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely Jehovah is in this place. And I knew it not.

⁵ And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.

¹⁵ And the prince of Jehovah's host said unto Joshua, Put off thy shoe from off thy foot; for the place whereon thou standest is holy. And Joshua did so.

¹¹ Who is like unto thee, O Jehovah, among the gods? Who is like thee, glorious in holiness, Fearful in praises, doing wonders?

⁴ that Jehovah called Samuel; and he said, Here am I.

⁵ And he ran unto Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou calledst me. And he said, I called not; lie down again. And he went and lay down.

⁶ And Jehovah called yet again, Samuel. And Samuel arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou calledst me. And he answered, I called not, my son; lie down again.

⁷ Now Samuel did not yet know Jehovah, neither was the word of Jehovah yet revealed unto him.

¹¹ Lo, he goeth by me, and I see him not: He passeth on also, but I perceive him not.
