¹⁸ And Jacob loved Rachel. And he said, I will serve thee seven years for Rachel thy younger daughter.

¹² And Jacob fled into the field of Aram, and Israel served for a wife, and for a wife he kept `sheep'.

⁴¹ These twenty years have I been in thy house; I served thee fourteen years for thy two daughters, and six years for thy flock: and thou hast changed my wages ten times.

¹⁶ And if a man entice a virgin that is not betrothed, and lie with her, he shall surely pay a dowry for her to be his wife.

¹⁷ If her father utterly refuse to give her unto him, he shall pay money according to the dowry of virgins.

²⁰ And Jacob served seven years for Rachel. And they seemed unto him but a few days, for the love he had to her.

³⁰ And he went in also unto Rachel, and he loved also Rachel more than Leah, and served with him yet seven other years.

¹² Ask me never so much dowry and gift, and I will give according as ye shall say unto me: but give me the damsel to wife.

¹⁴ And David sent messengers to Ish-bosheth, Saul's son, saying, Deliver me my wife Michal, whom I betrothed to me for a hundred foreskins of the Philistines.

² So I bought her to me for fifteen `pieces' of silver, and a homer of barley, and a half-homer of barley;
