⁷ And Jehovah said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the ground; both man, and beast, and creeping things, and birds of the heavens; for it repenteth me that I have made them.

¹ The earth is Jehovah's, and the fulness thereof; The world, and they that dwell therein.

² For he hath founded it upon the seas, And established it upon the floods.

²⁰ But the wicked shall perish, And the enemies of Jehovah shall be as the fat of lambs: They shall consume; In smoke shall they consume away.

²⁷ The fear of Jehovah prolongeth days; But the years of the wicked shall be shortened.

⁴ Jehovah hath made everything for its own end; Yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.

²² For my people are foolish, they know me not; they are sottish children, and they have no understanding; they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.

²³ I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was waste and void; and the heavens, and they had no light.

²⁴ I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved to and fro.

²⁵ I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled.

²⁶ I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful field was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of Jehovah, `and' before his fierce anger.

²⁷ For thus saith Jehovah, The whole land shall be a desolation; yet will I not make a full end.

³ But thou, O Jehovah, knowest me; thou seest me, and triest my heart toward thee: pull them out like sheep for the slaughter, and prepare them for the day of slaughter.

⁴ How long shall the land mourn, and the herbs of the whole country wither? for the wickedness of them that dwell therein, the beasts are consumed, and the birds; because they said, He shall not see our latter end.

³ Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field and the birds of the heavens; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away.

³ I will consume man and beast; I will consume the birds of the heavens, and the fishes of the sea, and the stumblingblocks with the wicked; and I will cut off man from off the face of the ground, saith Jehovah.

²⁰ because by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified in his sight; for through the law `cometh' the knowledge of sin.

²¹ But now apart from the law a righteousness of God hath been manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

²² even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ unto all them that believe; for there is no distinction;
