⁸ Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith Jehovah.

¹³ For Jehovah hath chosen Zion; He hath desired it for his habitation.

¹⁴ This is my resting-place for ever: Here will I dwell; for I have desired it.

⁷ and I will shake all nations; and the precious things of all nations shall come; and I will fill this house with glory, saith Jehovah of hosts.

³¹ When therefore he was gone out, Jesus saith, Now is the Son of man glorified, and God is glorified in him;

³² and God shall glorify him in himself, and straightway shall he glorify him.

⁸ Bring forth therefore fruit worthy of repentance:

⁹ and think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.

¹ Open thy doors, O Lebanon, that the fire may devour thy cedars.

² Wail, O fir-tree, for the cedar is fallen, because the goodly ones are destroyed: wail, O ye oaks of Bashan, for the strong forest is come down.

⁹ The latter glory of this house shall be greater than the former, saith Jehovah of hosts; and in this place will I give peace, saith Jehovah of hosts.

² Thus speaketh Jehovah of hosts, saying, This people say, It is not the time `for us' to come, the time for Jehovah's house to be built.

³ Then came the word of Jehovah by Haggai the prophet, saying,

⁴ Is it a time for you yourselves to dwell in your ceiled houses, while this house lieth waste?

¹ And the word of Jehovah came unto Jonah the second time, saying,

² Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee.

¹¹ that ye may suck and be satisfied with the breasts of her consolations; that ye may milk out, and be delighted with the abundance of her glory.

¹³ The glory of Lebanon shall come unto thee, the fir-tree, the pine, and the box-tree together, to beautify the place of my sanctuary; and I will make the place of my feet glorious.

⁷ All the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered together unto thee, the rams of Nebaioth shall minister unto thee; they shall come up with acceptance on mine altar; and I will glorify the house of my glory.

² Jehovah loveth the gates of Zion More than all the dwellings of Jacob.

³ Glorious things are spoken of thee, O city of God. Selah

⁴ with three courses of great stones, and a course of new timber: and let the expenses be given out of the king's house.

⁷ They gave money also unto the masons, and to the carpenters; and food, and drink, and oil, unto them of Sidon, and to them of Tyre, to bring cedar-trees from Lebanon to the sea, unto Joppa, according to the grant that they had of Cyrus king of Persia.

¹⁶ For now have I chosen and hallowed this house, that my name may be there for ever; and mine eyes and my heart shall be there perpetually.

⁸ Send me also cedar-trees, fir-trees, and algum-trees, out of Lebanon; for I know that thy servants know how to cut timber in Lebanon: and, behold, my servants shall be with thy servants,

⁹ even to prepare me timber in abundance; for the house which I am about to build shall be great and wonderful.

¹⁰ And, behold, I will give to thy servants, the hewers that cut timber, twenty thousand measures of beaten wheat, and twenty thousand measures of barley, and twenty thousand baths of wine, and twenty thousand baths of oil.

³ And Jehovah said unto him, I have heard thy prayer and thy supplication, that thou hast made before me: I have hallowed this house, which thou hast built, to put my name there for ever; and mine eyes and my heart shall be there perpetually.

⁴³ And there I will meet with the children of Israel; and `the Tent' shall be sanctified by my glory.
