²² Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils; for wherein is he to be accounted of?

³ Put not your trust in princes, Nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.

⁵ Thus saith Jehovah: Cursed is the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from Jehovah.

³ Jehovah, what is man, that thou takest knowledge of him? Or the son of man, that thou makest account of him?

⁴ Man is like to vanity: His days are as a shadow that passeth away.

¹⁴ whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. What is your life? For ye are a vapor, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

⁴ What is man, that thou art mindful of him? And the son of man, that thou visitest him?

³ (For my life is yet whole in me, And the spirit of God is in my nostrils);

¹⁵ Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are accounted as the small dust of the balance: Behold, he taketh up the isles as a very little thing.

⁹ Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: In the balances they will go up; They are together lighter than vanity.

¹⁵ So that my soul chooseth strangling, And death rather than `these' my bones.

¹⁶ I loathe `my life'; I would not live alway: Let me alone; for my days are vanity.

¹⁷ What is man, that thou shouldest magnify him, And that thou shouldest set thy mind upon him,

¹⁸ And that thou shouldest visit him every morning, And try him every moment?

¹⁹ How long wilt thou not look away from me, Nor let me alone till I swallow down my spittle?

²⁰ If I have sinned, what do I unto thee, O thou watcher of men? Why hast thou set me as a mark for thee, So that I am a burden to myself?

²¹ And why dost thou not pardon my transgression, and take away mine iniquity? For now shall I lie down in the dust; And thou wilt seek me diligently, but I shall not be.

²² all in whose nostrils was the breath of the spirit of life, of all that was on the dry land, died.

⁷ And Jehovah God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
