² the mighty man, and the man of war; the judge, and the prophet, and the diviner, and the elder;

¹³ and he took of the seed royal, and made a covenant with him; he also brought him under an oath, and took away the mighty of the land;

¹⁴ And he carried away all Jerusalem, and all the princes, and all the mighty men of valor, even ten thousand captives, and all the craftsmen and the smiths; none remained, save the poorest sort of the people of the land.

¹⁵ And he carried away Jehoiachin to Babylon; and the king's mother, and the king's wives, and his officers, and the chief men of the land, carried he into captivity from Jerusalem to Babylon.

¹⁶ And all the men of might, even seven thousand, and the craftsmen and the smiths a thousand, all of them strong and apt for war, even them the king of Babylon brought captive to Babylon.

⁹ We see not our signs: There is no more any prophet; Neither is there among us any that knoweth how long.

¹³ and upon all the cedars of Lebanon, that are high and lifted up, and upon all the oaks of Bashan,

¹⁴ and upon all the high mountains, and upon all the hills that are lifted up,

¹⁵ and upon every lofty tower, and upon every fortified wall,

¹⁴ Therefore Jehovah will cut off from Israel head and tail, palm-branch and rush, in one day.

¹⁵ The elder and the honorable man, he is the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the tail.

¹² Princes were hanged up by their hand: The faces of elders were not honored.

¹³ The young men bare the mill; And the children stumbled under the wood.

¹⁴ The elders have ceased from the gate, The young men from their music.

¹² Then said he unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen what the elders of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in his chambers of imagery? for they say, Jehovah seeth us not; Jehovah hath forsaken the land.

⁵ And to the others he said in my hearing, Go ye through the city after him, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity;

³ and I will cut off the judge from the midst thereof, and will slay all the princes thereof with him, saith Jehovah.
