⁵ Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith Jehovah, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.

² Twenty and five years old was he when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Abi the daughter of Zechariah.

³ I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn unto David my servant:

⁴ Thy seed will I establish for ever, And build up thy throne to all generations. Selah

¹⁵ Precious in the sight of Jehovah Is the death of his saints.

³ He healeth the broken in heart, And bindeth up their wounds.

¹³ And he said, Hear ye now, O house of David: Is it a small thing for you to weary men, that ye will weary my God also?

¹⁴ Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

³² I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not `the God' of the dead, but of the living.

¹³ But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: because thy supplication is heard, and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.

²⁴ saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must stand before Caesar: and lo, God hath granted thee all them that sail with thee.

⁶ Nevertheless he that comforteth the lowly, `even' God, comforted us by the coming of Titus;

¹⁴ And this is the boldness which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us:

¹⁵ and if we know that he heareth us whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him.

¹⁷ for the Lamb that is in the midst of the throne shall be their shepherd, and shall guide them unto fountains of waters of life: and God shall wipe away every tear from their eyes.

⁸ Thou numberest my wanderings: Put thou my tears into thy bottle; Are they not in thy book?

¹² Hear my prayer, O Jehovah, and give ear unto my cry; Hold not thy peace at my tears: For I am a stranger with thee, A sojourner, as all my fathers were.

²⁵ Now therefore, O Jehovah, the God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that which thou hast promised him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel, if only thy children take heed to their way, to walk before me as thou hast walked before me.

⁴ And as for thee, if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep my statutes and mine ordinances;

⁵ then I will establish the throne of thy kingdom over Israel for ever, according as I promised to David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man upon the throne of Israel.

¹² Notwithstanding in thy days I will not do it, for David thy father's sake: but I will rend it out of the hand of thy son.

¹³ Howbeit I will not rend away all the kingdom; but I will give one tribe to thy son, for David my servant's sake, and for Jerusalem's sake which I have chosen.

⁴ Nevertheless for David's sake did Jehovah his God give him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem;

¹³ Now in the fourteenth year of king Hezekiah did Sennacherib king of Assyria come up against all the fortified cities of Judah, and took them.

²⁰ Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, Thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel, Whereas thou hast prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria, I have heard `thee'.

² And Nathan said unto David, Do all that is in thy heart; for God is with thee.

³ And it came to pass the same night, that the word of God came to Nathan, saying,

⁴ Go and tell David my servant, Thus saith Jehovah, Thou shalt not build me a house to dwell in:

³ For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was yet young, he began to seek after the God of David his father; and in the twelfth year he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem from the high places, and the Asherim, and the graven images, and the molten images.

⁵ Seeing his days are determined, The number of his months is with thee, And thou hast appointed his bounds that he cannot pass;

⁵ They looked unto him, and were radiant; And their faces shall never be confounded.

⁶ This poor man cried, and Jehovah heard him, And saved him out of all his troubles.

³ And Nathan said to the king, Go, do all that is in thy heart; for Jehovah is with thee.

⁴ And it came to pass the same night, that the word of Jehovah came unto Nathan, saying,

⁵ Go and tell my servant David, Thus saith Jehovah, Shalt thou build me a house for me to dwell in?
