² Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labor for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.

⁷ For they sow the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind: he hath no standing grain; the blade shall yield no meal; if so be it yield, strangers shall swallow it up.

¹⁴ And I will satiate the soul of the priests with fatness, and my people shall be satisfied with my goodness, saith Jehovah.

²⁶ The meek shall eat and be satisfied; They shall praise Jehovah that seek after him: Let your heart live for ever.

⁴⁸ I am the bread of life.

⁴⁹ Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died.

⁵⁰ This is the bread which cometh down out of heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.

⁵¹ I am the living bread which came down out of heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: yea and the bread which I will give is my flesh, for the life of the world.

⁵² The Jews therefore strove one with another, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat?

⁵³ Jesus therefore said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, ye have not life in yourselves.

⁵⁴ He that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood hath eternal life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

⁵⁵ For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.

⁵⁶ He that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood abideth in me, and I in him.

⁵⁷ As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father; so he that eateth me, he also shall live because of me.

⁵⁸ This is the bread which came down out of heaven: not as the fathers ate, and died; he that eateth this bread shall live for ever.

¹³ For my people have committed two evils: they have forsaken me, the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.

¹⁴ And he called to him the multitude again, and said unto them, Hear me all of you, and understand:

⁴ Again he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them that are bidden, Behold, I have made ready my dinner; my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come to the marriage feast.

⁹ But in vain do they worship me, Teaching `as their' doctrines the precepts of men.

¹³ Behold, is it not of Jehovah of hosts that the peoples labor for the fire, and the nations weary themselves for vanity?

¹⁵ And he went and joined himself to one of the citizens of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.

¹⁶ And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.

²³ and bring the fatted calf, `and' kill it, and let us eat, and make merry:

³¹ but Israel, following after a law of righteousness, did not arrive at `that' law.

² For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge.

³ For being ignorant of God's righteousness, and seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God.

¹⁷ So belief `cometh' of hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.

⁴ though I myself might have confidence even in the flesh: if any other man thinketh to have confidence in the flesh, I yet more:

⁵ circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee;

⁶ as touching zeal, persecuting the church; as touching the righteousness which is in the law, found blameless.

⁷ Howbeit what things were gain to me, these have I counted loss for Christ.

⁹ Be not carried away by divers and strange teachings: for it is good that the heart be established by grace; not by meats, wherein they that occupied themselves were not profited.

¹ Ephraim feedeth on wind, and followeth after the east wind: he continually multiplieth lies and desolation; and they make a covenant with Assyria, and oil is carried into Egypt.

⁷ Hearken unto me, ye that know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; fear ye not the reproach of men, neither be ye dismayed at their revilings.

¹³ And it shall come to pass, if ye shall hearken diligently unto my commandments which I command you this day, to love Jehovah your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul,

¹¹ Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of Jehovah.

⁸ They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; And thou wilt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.

⁵ My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; And my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips;

³³ But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell securely, And shall be quiet without fear of evil.

²³ Till an arrow strike through his liver; As a bird hasteth to the snare, And knoweth not that it is for his life.

³² Now therefore, `my' sons, hearken unto me; For blessed are they that keep my ways.

⁵ Come, eat ye of my bread, And drink of the wine which I have mingled.

² a man to whom God giveth riches, wealth, and honor, so that he lacketh nothing for his soul of all that he desireth, yet God giveth him not power to eat thereof, but an alien eateth it; this is vanity, and it is an evil disease.

¹⁹ If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:

⁶ And in this mountain will Jehovah of hosts make unto all peoples a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined.

²⁰ He feedeth on ashes; a deceived heart hath turned him aside; and he cannot deliver his soul, nor say, Is there not a lie in my right hand?

⁶ Such as lavish gold out of the bag, and weigh silver in the balance, they hire a goldsmith, and he maketh it a god; they fall down, yea, they worship.

¹ Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek Jehovah: look unto the rock whence ye were hewn, and to the hold of the pit whence ye were digged.

⁴ Attend unto me, O my people; and give ear unto me, O my nation: for a law shall go forth from me, and I will establish my justice for a light of the peoples.

²⁶ and he said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of Jehovah thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his eyes, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases upon thee, which I have put upon the Egyptians: for I am Jehovah that healeth thee.
