² Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that holdeth it fast; that keepeth the sabbath from profaning it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.

¹³ If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, `and' the holy of Jehovah honorable; and shalt honor it, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking `thine own' words:

²⁰ and hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am Jehovah your God.

¹² Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am Jehovah that sanctifieth them.

²¹ Thus saith Jehovah, Take heed to yourselves, and bear no burden on the sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem;

²² neither carry forth a burden out of your houses on the sabbath day, neither do ye any work: but hallow ye the sabbath day, as I commanded your fathers.

¹ Praise ye Jehovah. Blessed is the man that feareth Jehovah, That delighteth greatly in his commandments.

¹³ Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily ye shall keep my sabbaths: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am Jehovah who sanctifieth you.

¹⁴ Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that profaneth it shall surely be put to death; for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.

¹⁵ Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day is a sabbath of solemn rest, holy to Jehovah: whosoever doeth any work on the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.

¹⁶ Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.

²⁸ But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.

¹⁷ If ye know these things, blessed are ye if ye do them.

¹⁴ Blessed are they that wash their robes, that they may have the right `to come' to the tree of life, and may enter in by the gates into the city.

⁶ Also the foreigners that join themselves to Jehovah, to minister unto him, and to love the name of Jehovah, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from profaning it, and holdeth fast my covenant;

⁴ For thus saith Jehovah of the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and hold fast my covenant:

¹⁸ It is good that thou shouldest take hold of this; yea, also from that withdraw not thy hand: for he that feareth God shall come forth from them all.

¹⁷ The highway of the upright is to depart from evil: He that keepeth his way preserveth his soul.

⁶ By mercy and truth iniquity is atoned for; And by the fear of Jehovah men depart from evil.

¹⁶ A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil; But the fool beareth himself insolently, and is confident.

²⁷ Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: Remove thy foot from evil.

¹³ Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: Keep her; for she is thy life.

⁸ Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

¹⁰ but the seventh day is a sabbath unto Jehovah thy God: `in it' thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy man-servant, nor thy maid-servant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

³⁰ Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary; I am Jehovah.

¹⁷ Then I contended with the nobles of Judah, and said unto them, What evil thing is this that ye do, and profane the sabbath day?

¹ Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the wicked, Nor standeth in the way of sinners, Nor sitteth in the seat of scoffers:

² But his delight is in the law of Jehovah; And on his law doth he meditate day and night.

³ And he shall be like a tree planted by the streams of water, That bringeth forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also doth not wither; And whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

¹ Jehovah, who shall sojourn in thy tabernacle? Who shall dwell in thy holy hill?

² He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, And speaketh truth in his heart;

³ He that slandereth not with his tongue, Nor doeth evil to his friend, Nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbor;

⁴ In whose eyes a reprobate is despised, But who honoreth them that fear Jehovah; He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not;

⁵ He that putteth not out his money to interest, Nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved. Psalm 16 Michtam of David.

¹⁴ Depart from evil, and do good; Seek peace, and pursue it.

²⁷ Depart from evil, and do good; And dwell for evermore.

³ Blessed are they that keep justice, And he that doeth righteousness at all times.

¹ ALEPH. Blessed are they that are perfect in the way, Who walk in the law of Jehovah.

² Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, That seek him with the whole heart.

³ Yea, they do no unrighteousness; They walk in his ways.

⁴ Thou hast commanded `us' thy precepts, That we should observe them diligently.

⁵ Oh that my ways were established To observe thy statutes!

¹⁰¹ I have refrained my feet from every evil way, That I might observe thy word.

¹ Blessed is every one that feareth Jehovah, That walketh in his ways.

⁹ Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.

⁴³ Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
