⁹ Then shalt thou call, and Jehovah will answer; thou shalt cry, and he will say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking wickedly;

¹⁵ And call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

²⁴ And it shall come to pass that, before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

² They speak falsehood every one with his neighbor: With flattering lip, and with a double heart, do they speak.

¹³ That winketh with his eyes, that speaketh with his feet, That maketh signs with his fingers;

¹⁵ He shall call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble: I will deliver him, and honor him.

¹⁵ The eyes of Jehovah are toward the righteous, And his ears are `open' unto their cry.

¹⁶ The face of Jehovah is against them that do evil, To cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

¹⁷ `The righteous' cried, and Jehovah heard, And delivered them out of all their troubles.

⁴ Delight thyself also in Jehovah; And he will give thee the desires of thy heart.

¹⁵ And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you; yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.

¹² And ye shall call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.

¹³ And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

⁷ Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

⁸ for every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

²¹ Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, we have boldness toward God;

²² and whatsoever we ask we receive of him, because we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing in his sight.

² For the teraphim have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen a lie; and they have told false dreams, they comfort in vain: therefore they go their way like sheep, they are afflicted, because there is no shepherd.

⁴ that Jehovah called Samuel; and he said, Here am I.

⁵ And he ran unto Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou calledst me. And he said, I called not; lie down again. And he went and lay down.

⁶ And Jehovah called yet again, Samuel. And Samuel arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou calledst me. And he answered, I called not, my son; lie down again.

⁷ Now Samuel did not yet know Jehovah, neither was the word of Jehovah yet revealed unto him.

⁸ And Jehovah called Samuel again the third time. And he arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou calledst me. And Eli perceived that Jehovah had called the child.

¹⁸ If I regard iniquity in my heart, The Lord will not hear:

¹⁹ But verily God hath heard; He hath attended to the voice of my prayer.

⁵ Out of my distress I called upon Jehovah: Jehovah answered me `and set me' in a large place.

¹⁹ For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem; thou shalt weep no more; he will surely be gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; when he shall hear, he will answer thee.

⁴ Against whom do ye sport yourselves? against whom make ye a wide mouth, and put out the tongue? are ye not children of transgression, a seed of falsehood,

⁶ Is not this the fast that I have chosen: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the bands of the yoke, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?

³ For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue muttereth wickedness.

⁴ None sueth in righteousness, and none pleadeth in truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.

¹³ transgressing and denying Jehovah, and turning away from following our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood.

⁸ Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because ye have spoken falsehood, and seen lies, therefore, behold, I am against you, saith the Lord Jehovah.

¹⁸ And he came unto his father, and said, My father. And he said, Here am I. Who art thou, my son?
