¹⁹ Give heed to me, O Jehovah, and hearken to the voice of them that contend with me.

⁹ For they all would have made us afraid, saying, Their hands shall be weakened from the work, that it be not done. But now, `O God', strengthen thou my hands.

⁸ Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, Jehovah will be a light unto me.

¹² But, O Jehovah of hosts, that triest the righteous, that seest the heart and the mind, let me see thy vengeance on them; for unto thee have I revealed my cause.

²⁸ Let them curse, but bless thou: When they arise, they shall be put to shame, But thy servant shall rejoice.

¹⁶ As for me, I will call upon God; And Jehovah will save me.

¹⁷ Evening, and morning, and at noonday, will I complain, and moan; And he will hear my voice.

¹¹ But they were filled with madness; and communed one with another what they might do to Jesus.

¹² And it came to pass in these days, that he went out into the mountain to pray; and he continued all night in prayer to God.

⁴ For my love they are my adversaries: But I `give myself unto' prayer.

¹ Hear my voice, O God, in my complaint: Preserve my life from fear of the enemy.

² Hide me from the secret counsel of evil-doers, From the tumult of the workers of iniquity;

³ Who have whet their tongue like a sword, And have aimed their arrows, even bitter words,

⁴ That they may shoot in secret places at the perfect: Suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not.

¹ Be merciful unto me, O God; for man would swallow me up: All the day long he fighting oppresseth me.

² Mine enemies would swallow me up all the day long; For they are many that fight proudly against me.

³ What time I am afraid, I will put my trust in thee.

⁴ Hear, O our God; for we are despised: and turn back their reproach upon their own head, and give them up for a spoil in a land of captivity;

⁵ and cover not their iniquity, and let not their sin be blotted out from before thee; for they have provoked `thee' to anger before the builders.

¹⁶ Incline thine ear, O Jehovah, and hear; open thine eyes, O Jehovah, and see; and hear the words of Sennacherib, wherewith he hath sent him to defy the living God.
