³⁰ Thus saith Jehovah, Write ye this man childless, a man that shall not prosper in his days; for no more shall a man of his seed prosper, sitting upon the throne of David, and ruling in Judah.

³⁰ Therefore thus saith Jehovah concerning Jehoiakim king of Judah: He shall have none to sit upon the throne of David; and his dead body shall be cast out in the day to the heat, and in the night to the frost.

²⁰ Shall the throne of wickedness have fellowship with thee, Which frameth mischief by statute?

³² He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Most High: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:

³³ and he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

¹⁶ And the sons of Jehoiakim: Jeconiah his son, Zedekiah his son.

¹⁷ And the sons of Jeconiah, the captive: Shealtiel his son,

²¹ For the shepherds are become brutish, and have not inquired of Jehovah: therefore they have not prospered, and all their flocks are scattered.

¹¹ and Josiah begat Jechoniah and his brethren, at the time of the carrying away to Babylon.

¹² And after the carrying away to Babylon, Jechoniah begat Shealtiel; and Shealtiel begat Zerubbabel;

¹³ and Zerubbabel begat Abiud; and Abiud begat Eliakim; and Eliakim begat Azor;

¹⁴ and Azor begat Sadoc; and Sadoc begat Achim; and Achim begat Eliud;

¹⁵ and Eliud begat Eleazar; and Eleazar begat Matthan; and Matthan begat Jacob;

¹⁶ and Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.
