³⁵ Thus saith Jehovah, who giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, who stirreth up the sea, so that the waves thereof roar; Jehovah of hosts is his name:

¹⁶ The portion of Jacob is not like these; for he is the former of all things; and Israel is the tribe of his inheritance: Jehovah of hosts is his name.

¹⁵ For I am Jehovah thy God, who stirreth up the sea, so that the waves thereof roar: Jehovah of hosts is his name.

⁷ To him that made great lights; For his lovingkindness `endureth' for ever:

⁸ The sun to rule by day; For his lovingkindness `endureth' for ever;

⁹ The moon and stars to rule by night; For his lovingkindness `endureth' for ever:

¹⁴ And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years:

¹⁵ and let them be for lights in the firmament of heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.

¹⁶ And God made the two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: `he made' the stars also.

¹⁷ And God set them in the firmament of heaven to give light upon the earth,

¹⁸ and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.

¹⁹ and lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun and the moon and the stars, even all the host of heaven, thou be drawn away and worship them, and serve them, which Jehovah thy God hath allotted unto all the peoples under the whole heaven.

¹ The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament showeth his handiwork.

² Day unto day uttereth speech, And night unto night showeth knowledge.

³ There is no speech nor language; Their voice is not heard.

⁴ Their line is gone out through all the earth, And their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,

⁵ Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, And rejoiceth as a strong man to run his course.

⁶ His going forth is from the end of the heavens, And his circuit unto the ends of it; And there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.

¹⁸ who showest lovingkindness unto thousands, and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them; the great, the mighty God, Jehovah of hosts is his name;

³⁴ Their Redeemer is strong; Jehovah of hosts is his name: he will thoroughly plead their cause, that he may give rest to the earth, and disquiet the inhabitants of Babylon.

²⁵ And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Save, Lord; we perish.

²⁶ And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.

⁵ For thy Maker is thy husband; Jehovah of hosts is his name: and the Holy One of Israel is thy Redeemer; the God of the whole earth shall he be called.

¹² that caused his glorious arm to go at the right hand of Moses? that divided the waters before them, to make himself an everlasting name?

²² Fear ye not me? saith Jehovah: will ye not tremble at my presence, who have placed the sand for the bound of the sea, by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it? and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it.

¹⁸ As I live, saith the King, whose name is Jehovah of hosts, surely like Tabor among the mountains, and like Carmel by the sea, so shall he come.

⁴⁵ that ye may be sons of your Father who is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sendeth rain on the just and the unjust.

² (for they call themselves of the holy city, and stay themselves upon the God of Israel; Jehovah of hosts is his name):

⁸⁹ For ever, O Jehovah, Thy word is settled in heaven.

¹² He stirreth up the sea with his power, And by his understanding he smiteth through Rahab.

¹⁰ And marked out for it my bound, And set bars and doors,

¹¹ And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further; And here shall thy proud waves be stayed?

³³ Knowest thou the ordinances of the heavens? Canst thou establish the dominion thereof in the earth?

⁵ They shall fear thee while the sun endureth, And so long as the moon, throughout all generations.

¹⁷ His name shall endure for ever; His name shall be continued as long as the sun: And men shall be blessed in him; All nations shall call him happy.

¹³ Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength: Thou brakest the heads of the sea-monsters in the waters.

¹⁶ The day is thine, the night also is thine: Thou hast prepared the light and the sun.

¹³ He clave the sea, and caused them to pass through; And he made the waters to stand as a heap.

² For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever; Thy faithfulness wilt thou establish in the very heavens.

³⁶ His seed shall endure for ever, And his throne as the sun before me.

³⁷ It shall be established for ever as the moon, And `as' the faithful witness in the sky. Selah

³ The floods have lifted up, O Jehovah, The floods have lifted up their voice; The floods lift up their waves.

⁴ Above the voices of many waters, The mighty breakers of the sea, Jehovah on high is mighty.

⁹ He rebuked the Red Sea also, and it was dried up: So he led them through the depths, as through a wilderness.

²⁵ For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, Which lifteth up the waves thereof.

²⁶ They mount up to the heavens, they go down again to the depths: Their soul melteth away because of trouble.

²⁷ They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, And are at their wits' end.

²⁸ Then they cry unto Jehovah in their trouble, And he bringeth them out of their distresses.

²⁹ He maketh the storm a calm, So that the waves thereof are still.

³ The sea saw it, and fled; The Jordan was driven back.

⁴ The mountains skipped like rams, The little hills like lambs.

⁵ What aileth thee, O thou sea, that thou fleest? Thou Jordan, that thou turnest back?

²¹ And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and Jehovah caused the sea to go `back' by a strong east wind all the night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.

²² And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.
