⁶ Flee, save your lives, and be like the heath in the wilderness.

⁶ For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh, but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, a salt land and not inhabited.

⁶ Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and save every man his life; be not cut off in her iniquity: for it is the time of Jehovah's vengeance; he will render unto her a recompense.

¹⁸ that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we may have a strong encouragement, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us:

³¹ In that day, he that shall be on the housetop, and his goods in the house, let him not go down to take them away: and let him that is in the field likewise not return back.

³² Remember Lot's wife.

³³ Whosoever shall seek to gain his life shall lose it: but whosoever shall lose `his life' shall preserve it.

⁷ He said therefore to the multitudes that went out to be baptized of him, Ye offspring of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

¹⁶ then let them that are in Judaea flee unto the mountains:

¹⁷ let him that is on the housetop not go down to take out things that are in his house:

¹⁸ and let him that is in the field not return back to take his cloak.

⁴ Give not sleep to thine eyes, Nor slumber to thine eyelids;

⁵ Deliver thyself as a roe from the hand `of the hunter', And as a bird from the hand of the fowler.

¹ In Jehovah do I take refuge: How say ye to my soul, Flee `as' a bird to your mountain;

³ They are gaunt with want and famine; They gnaw the dry ground, in the gloom of wasteness and desolation.

⁴ They pluck salt-wort by the bushes; And the roots of the broom are their food.

⁵ They are driven forth from the midst `of men'; They cry after them as after a thief;

⁶ So that they dwell in frightful valleys, In holes of the earth and of the rocks.

⁷ Among the bushes they bray; Under the nettles they are gathered together.

¹⁷ And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the Plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed.
