³⁰ Refuse silver shall men them, because Jehovah hath rejected them.

¹⁷ My God will cast them away, because they did not hearken unto him; and they shall be wanderers among the nations.

²² Thy silver is become dross, thy wine mixed with water.

¹¹⁹ Thou puttest away all the wicked of the earth like dross: Therefore I love thy testimonies.

¹ I say then, Did God cast off his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.

¹³ Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost its savor, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out and trodden under foot of men.

¹⁸ Son of man, the house of Israel is become dross unto me: all of them are brass and tin and iron and lead, in the midst of the furnace; they are the dross of silver.

¹⁹ Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because ye are all become dross, therefore, behold, I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem.

²² But thou hast utterly rejected us; Thou art very wroth against us.

¹⁹ Hast thou utterly rejected Judah? hath thy soul loathed Zion? why hast thou smitten us, and there is no healing for us? We looked for peace, but no good came; and for a time of healing, and, behold, dismay!

²⁹ Cut off thy hair, `O Jerusalem', and cast it away, and take up a lamentation on the bare heights; for Jehovah hath rejected and forsaken the generation of his wrath.

²⁵ and I will turn my hand upon thee, and thoroughly purge away thy dross, and will take away all thy tin;

⁴ Take away the dross from the silver, And there cometh forth a vessel for the refiner:
