⁶ That thou inquirest after mine iniquity, And searchest after my sin,

¹⁶ But now thou numberest my steps: Dost thou not watch over my sin?

¹⁴ If I sin, then thou markest me, And thou wilt not acquit me from mine iniquity.

¹⁵ If I be wicked, woe unto me; And if I be righteous, yet shall I not lift up my head; Being filled with ignominy, And looking upon mine affliction.

¹⁶ And if `my head' exalt itself, thou huntest me as a lion; And again thou showest thyself marvellous upon me.

¹⁷ Thou renewest thy witnesses against me, And increasest thine indignation upon me: Changes and warfare are with me.

¹⁵ Break thou the arm of the wicked; And as for the evil man, seek out his wickedness till thou find none.

²¹ Will not God search this out? For he knoweth the secrets of the heart.

³⁴ Also in thy skirts is found the blood of the souls of the innocent poor: thou didst not find them breaking in; but it is because of all these things.

¹² And it shall come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with lamps; and I will punish the men that are settled on their lees, that say in their heart, Jehovah will not do good, neither will he do evil.

²⁴ But Jesus did not trust himself unto them, for that he knew all men,

²⁵ and because he needed not that any one should bear witness concerning man; for he himself knew what was in man.

⁵ Wherefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and make manifest the counsels of the hearts; and then shall each man have his praise from God.
