²¹ There was nothing left that he devoured not; Therefore his prosperity shall not endure.

²⁹ He shall not be rich, neither shall his substance continue, Neither shall their possessions be extended on the earth.

¹⁹ He shall have neither son nor son's son among his people, Nor any remaining where he sojourned.

¹¹ As the partridge that sitteth on `eggs' which she hath not laid, so is he that getteth riches, and not by right; in the midst of his days they shall leave him, and at his end he shall be a fool.

²⁴ And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am in anguish in this flame.

²⁵ But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and Lazarus in like manner evil things: but now here he is comforted and thou art in anguish.
