² How hast thou helped him that is without power! How hast thou saved the arm that hath no strength!

²⁷ And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud; for he is a god: either he is musing, or he is gone aside, or he is on a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth and must be awaked.

¹⁴ With whom took he counsel, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of justice, and taught him knowledge, and showed to him the way of understanding?

³ Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees.

⁴ Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come `with' vengeance, `with' the recompense of God; he will come and save you.

⁹ Cast me not off in the time of old age; Forsake me not when my strength faileth.

⁴ I also could speak as ye do; If your soul were in my soul's stead, I could join words together against you, And shake my head at you.

⁵ `But' I would strengthen you with my mouth, And the solace of my lips would assuage `your grief'.

² No doubt but ye are the people, And wisdom shall die with you.

²⁵ How forcible are words of uprightness! But your reproof, what doth it reprove?

¹² Is my strength the strength of stones? Or is my flesh of brass?

³ Behold, thou hast instructed many, And thou hast strengthened the weak hands.

⁴ Thy words have upholden him that was falling, And thou hast made firm the feeble knees.

⁵ The isles have seen, and fear; the ends of the earth tremble; they draw near, and come.

⁶ They help every one his neighbor; and `every one' saith to his brother, Be of good courage.

⁷ So the carpenter encourageth the goldsmith, `and' he that smootheth with the hammer him that smiteth the anvil, saying of the soldering, It is good; and he fasteneth it with nails, that is should not be moved.
