¹¹ For that were a heinous crime; Yea, it were an iniquity to be punished by the judges:

¹⁰ And the man that committeth adultery with another man's wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbor's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.

²⁸ This also were an iniquity to be punished by the judges; For I should have denied the God that is above.

²² If a man be found lying with a woman married to a husband, then they shall both of them die, the man that lay with the woman, and the woman: so shalt thou put away the evil from Israel.

²³ If there be a damsel that is a virgin betrothed unto a husband, and a man find her in the city, and lie with her;

²⁴ then ye shall bring them both out unto the gate of that city, and ye shall stone them to death with stones; the damsel, because she cried not, being in the city; and the man, because he hath humbled his neighbor's wife: so thou shalt put away the evil from the midst of thee.

²⁴ And it came to pass about three months after, that it was told Judah, saying, Tamar thy daughter-in-law hath played the harlot; and moreover, behold, she is with child by whoredom. And Judah said, Bring her forth, and let her be burnt.

³⁸ And I will judge thee, as women that break wedlock and shed blood are judged; and I will bring upon thee the blood of wrath and jealousy.

²⁹ So he that goeth in to his neighbor's wife; Whosoever toucheth her shall not be unpunished.

³⁰ Men do not despise a thief, if he steal To satisfy himself when he is hungry:

³¹ But if he be found, he shall restore sevenfold; He shall give all the substance of his house.

³² He that committeth adultery with a woman is void of understanding: He doeth it who would destroy his own soul.

³³ Wounds and dishonor shall he get; And his reproach shall not be wiped away.

¹⁴ Thou shalt not commit adultery.

⁹ he is not greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back anything from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?

¹⁰ And Abimelech said, What is this thou hast done unto us? One of the people might easily have lain with thy wife, and thou wouldest have brought guiltiness upon us.

⁹ Then Abimelech called Abraham, and said unto him, What hast thou done unto us? And wherein have I sinned against thee, that thou hast brought on me and on my kingdom a great sin? Thou hast done deeds unto me that ought not to be done.
