⁴ My flesh and my skin hath he made old; he hath broken my bones.

⁸ Make me to hear joy and gladness, That the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.

¹³ I quieted `myself' until morning; as a lion, so he breaketh all my bones: From day even to night wilt thou make an end of me.

¹⁷ Israel is a hunted sheep; the lions have driven him away: first, the king of Assyria devoured him; and now at last Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath broken his bones.

⁹ Have mercy upon me, O Jehovah, for I am in distress: Mine eye wasteth away with grief, `yea', my soul and my body.

¹⁰ For my life is spent with sorrow, And my years with sighing: My strength faileth because of mine iniquity, And my bones are wasted away.

² For thine arrows stick fast in me, And thy hand presseth me sore.

³ There is no soundness in my flesh because of thine indignation; Neither is there any health in my bones because of my sin.

⁴ For mine iniquities are gone over my head: As a heavy burden they are too heavy for me.

⁵ My wounds are loathsome and corrupt, Because of my foolishness.

⁶ I am pained and bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long.

⁷ For my loins are filled with burning; And there is no soundness in my flesh.

⁸ I am faint and sore bruised: I have groaned by reason of the disquietness of my heart.

³ For my days consume away like smoke, And my bones are burned as a firebrand.

⁴ My heart is smitten like grass, and withered; For I forget to eat my bread.

⁵ By reason of the voice of my groaning My bones cleave to my flesh.

⁸ And thou hast laid fast hold on me, `which' is a witness `against me': And my leanness riseth up against me, It testifieth to my face.

⁹ He hath torn me in his wrath, and persecuted me; He hath gnashed upon me with his teeth: Mine adversary sharpeneth his eyes upon me.

¹⁴ I am poured out like water, And all my bones are out of joint: My heart is like wax; It is melted within me.

³ When I kept silence, my bones wasted away Through my groaning all the day long.
