²⁸ Of the children of Issachar, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

¹⁸ And Leah said, God hath given me my hire, because I gave my handmaid to my husband: and she called his name Issachar.

¹³ And the sons of Issachar: Tola, and Puvah, and Iob, and Shimron.

¹⁴ Issachar is a strong ass, Couching down between the sheepfolds:

¹⁵ And he saw a resting-place that it was good, And the land that it was pleasant; And he bowed his shoulder to bear, And became a servant under taskwork.

⁵ And those that encamp next unto him shall be the tribe of Issachar: and the prince of the children of Issachar shall be Nethanel the son of Zuar.

⁶ And his host, and those that were numbered thereof, were fifty and four thousand and four hundred.

²³ Surely there is no enchantment with Jacob; Neither is there any divination with Israel: Now shalt it be said of Jacob and of Israel, What hath God wrought!

²⁴ Behold, the people riseth up as a lioness, And as a lion doth he lift himself up: He shall not lie down until he eat of the prey, And drink the blood of the slain.

²⁵ And Balak said unto Balaam, Neither curse them at all, nor bless them at all.

²³ The sons of Issachar after their families: `of' Tola, the family of the Tolaites; of Puvah, the family of the Punites;

²⁴ of Jashub, the family of the Jashubites; of Shimron, the family of the Shimronites.

²⁵ These are the families of Issachar according to those that were numbered of them, threescore and four thousand and three hundred.
