²⁴ This is that which belongeth unto the Levites: from twenty and five years old and upward they shall go in to wait upon the service in the work of the tent of meeting:

³ And the Levites were numbered from thirty years old and upward: and their number by their polls, man by man, was thirty and eight thousand.

³ from thirty years old and upward even until fifty years old, all that enter upon the service, to do the work in the tent of meeting.

³ Suffer hardship with `me', as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.

⁴ No soldier on service entangleth himself in the affairs of `this' life; that he may please him who enrolled him as a soldier.

⁵ And if also a man contend in the games, he is not crowded, except he have contended lawfully.

¹² Fight the good fight of the faith, lay hold on the life eternal, whereunto thou wast called, and didst confess the good confession in the sight of many witnesses.

¹⁸ This charge I commit unto thee, my child Timothy, according to the prophecies which led the way to thee, that by them thou mayest war the good warfare;

⁴ (for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the casting down of strongholds),

⁷ What soldier ever serveth at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not the fruit thereof? Or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock?

¹² and the pattern of all that he had by the Spirit, for the courts of the house of Jehovah, and for all the chambers round about, for the treasuries of the house of God, and for the treasuries of the dedicated things;

¹³ also for the courses of the priests and the Levites, and for all the work of the service of the house of Jehovah, and for all the vessels of service in the house of Jehovah;

²⁴ These were the sons of Levi after their fathers' houses, even the heads of the fathers' `houses' of those of them that were counted, in the number of names by their polls, who did the work for the service of the house of Jehovah, from twenty years old and upward.

²⁵ For David said, Jehovah, the God of Israel, hath given rest unto his people; and he dwelleth in Jerusalem for ever:

²⁶ and also the Levites shall no more have need to carry the tabernacle and all the vessels of it for the service thereof.

²⁷ For by the last words of David the sons of Levi were numbered, from twenty years old and upward.

²³ from thirty years old and upward until fifty years old shalt thou number them; all that enter in to wait upon the service, to do the work in the tent of meeting.
