¹⁹ The way of the sluggard is as a hedge of thorns; But the path of the upright is made a highway.

⁵ Thorns `and' snares are in the way of the perverse: He that keepeth his soul shall be far from them.

¹³ The sluggard saith, There is a lion in the way; A lion is in the streets.

¹³ The sluggard saith, There is a lion without: I shall be slain in the streets.

¹⁴ And he will say, Cast ye up, cast ye up, prepare the way, take up the stumbling-block out of the way of my people.

⁸ And a highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but is shall be for `the redeemed': the wayfaring men, yea fools, shall not err `therein'.

²¹ and thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it; when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

⁹ They are all plain to him that understandeth, And right to them that find knowledge.

¹¹ Teach me thy way, O Jehovah; And lead me in a plain path, Because of mine enemies.

¹² What man is he that feareth Jehovah? Him shall he instruct in the way that he shall choose.

⁸ Good and upright is Jehovah: Therefore will he instruct sinners in the way.

⁹ The meek will he guide in justice; And the meek will he teach his way.

⁸ Lead me, O Jehovah, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; Make thy way straight before my face.

⁷ and they spake unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying, The land, which we passed through to spy it out, is an exceeding good land.

⁸ If Jehovah delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it unto us; a land which floweth with milk and honey.

⁹ Only rebel not against Jehovah, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defence is removed from over them, and Jehovah is with us: fear them not.

¹ And all the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night.

² And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would that we had died in this wilderness!

³ And wherefore doth Jehovah bring us unto this land, to fall by the sword? Our wives and our little ones will be a prey: were it not better for us to return into Egypt?

⁶ In all thy ways acknowledge him, And he will direct thy paths.
