³³ The fear of Jehovah is the instruction of wisdom; And before honor `goeth' humility.

¹² Before destruction the heart of man is haughty; And before honor `goeth' humility.

⁷ The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of knowledge; `But' the foolish despise wisdom and instruction.

⁵ Likewise, ye younger, be subject unto the elder. Yea, all of you gird yourselves with humility, to serve one another: for God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace to the humble.

¹⁰ Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall exalt you.

¹¹ For everyone that exalteth himself shall be humbled; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

²³ A man's pride shall bring him low; But he that is of a lowly spirit shall obtain honor.

⁵ Have this mind in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

⁶ who, existing in the form of God, counted not the being on an equality with God a thing to be grasped,

⁷ but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men;

⁸ and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, becoming obedient `even' unto death, yea, the death of the cross.

⁹ Wherefore also God highly exalted him, and gave unto him the name which is above every name;

¹⁰ that in the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of `things' in heaven and `things' on earth and `things' under the earth,

¹¹ and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

⁶ Put not thyself forward in the presence of the king, And stand not in the place of great men:

⁷ For better is it that it be said unto thee, Come up hither, Than that thou shouldest be put lower in the presence of the prince, Whom thine eyes have seen.

¹³ The fear of Jehovah is to hate evil: Pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, And the perverse mouth, do I hate.

¹⁰ The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all they that do `his commandments': His praise endureth for ever.

¹¹ Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of Jehovah.

²⁸ And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; And to depart from evil is understanding.
