¹ He that separateth himself seeketh `his own' desire, And rageth against all sound wisdom.

¹ My son, if thou wilt receive my words, And lay up my commandments with thee;

² So as to incline thine ear unto wisdom, And apply thy heart to understanding;

³ Yea, if thou cry after discernment, And lift up thy voice for understanding;

⁴ If thou seek her as silver, And search for her as for hid treasures:

⁵ Then shalt thou understand the fear of Jehovah, And find the knowledge of God.

⁶ For Jehovah giveth wisdom; Out of his mouth `cometh' knowledge and understanding:

³ It is an honor for a man to keep aloof from strife; But every fool will be quarrelling.

¹⁹ These are they who make separations, sensual, having not the Spirit.

¹⁵ Look therefore carefully how ye walk, not as unwise, but as wise;

¹⁶ redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

¹⁷ Wherefore be ye not foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.

²¹ My son, fear thou Jehovah and the king; `And' company not with them that are given to change:

¹⁹ He that goeth about as a tale-bearer revealeth secrets; Therefore company not with him that openeth wide his lips.

¹⁰ The heart knoweth its own bitterness; And a stranger doth not intermeddle with its joy.

¹⁷ Wherefore Come ye out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, And touch no unclean thing; And I will receive you,

¹ Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called `to be' an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,

¹¹ And he said unto them, Unto you is given the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all things are done in parables:

³⁵ And in the morning, a great while before day, he rose up and went out, and departed into a desert place, and there prayed.

¹¹ And he answered and said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

³ `and' to speak unto the priests of the house of Jehovah of hosts, and to the prophets, saying, Should I weep in the fifth month, separating myself, as I have done these so many years?

¹⁷ I sat not in the assembly of them that make merry, nor rejoiced; I sat alone because of thy hand; for thou hast filled me with indignation.

¹⁷ He that passeth by, `and' vexeth himself with strife belonging not to him, Is `like' one that taketh a dog by the ears.

¹⁴ The beginning of strife is `as' when one letteth out water: Therefore leave off contention, before there is quarrelling.

¹⁶ For wherein now shall it be known that I have found favor in thy sight, I and thy people? is it not in that thou goest with us, so that we are separated, I and thy people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth?

⁸ Yea, in the way of thy judgments, O Jehovah, have we waited for thee; to thy name, even to thy memorial `name', is the desire of our soul.

⁹ With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee earnestly: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.
