²⁴ The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice; And he that begetteth a wise child will have joy of him.

¹⁵ My son, if thy heart be wise, My heart will be glad, even mine:

¹⁶ Yea, my heart will rejoice, When thy lips speak right things.

²⁰ Yea, brother, let me have joy of thee in the Lord: refresh my heart in Christ.

⁹ yet for love's sake I rather beseech, being such a one as Paul the aged, and now a prisoner also of Christ Jesus:

¹⁹ And who knoweth whether he will be a wise man or a fool? yet will he have rule over all my labor wherein I have labored, and wherein I have showed myself wise under the sun. This also is vanity.

³ Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father; But he that keepeth company with harlots wasteth `his' substance.

⁹ Now therefore hold him not guiltless, for thou art a wise man; and thou wilt know what thou oughtest to do unto him, and thou shalt bring his hoar head down to Sheol with blood.

¹ Now the days of David drew nigh that he should die; and he charged Solomon his son, saying,

² I am going the way of all the earth: be thou strong therefore, and show thyself a man;

³ and keep the charge of Jehovah thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, `and' his commandments, and his ordinances, and his testimonies, according to that which is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and whithersoever thou turnest thyself.

⁴⁸ And also thus said the king, Blessed be Jehovah, the God of Israel, who hath given one to sit on my throne this day, mine eyes even seeing it.
