⁷ The legs of the lame hang loose: So is a parable in the mouth of fools.

⁹ `As' a thorn that goeth up into the hand of a drunkard, So is a parable in the mouth of fools.

⁴ Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me cast out the mote out of thine eye; and lo, the beam is in thine own eye?

⁵ Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

¹⁶ But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, And that thou hast taken my covenant in thy mouth,

¹⁷ Seeing thou hatest instruction, And castest my words behind thee?

¹⁸ When thou sawest a thief, thou consentedst with him, And hast been partaker with adulterers.

¹⁹ Thou givest thy mouth to evil, And thy tongue frameth deceit.

²⁰ Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; Thou slanderest thine own mother's son.

²¹ These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; Thou thoughtest that I was altogether such a one as thyself: `But' I will reprove thee, and set `them' in order before thine eyes.

⁸ So they shall be made to stumble, their own tongue being against them: All that see them shall wag the head.

⁷ Excellent speech becometh not a fool; Much less do lying lips a prince.

²³ And he said unto them, Doubtless ye will say unto me this parable, Physician, heal thyself: whatsoever we have heard done at Capernaum, do also here in thine own country.
