³ Let not kindness and truth forsake thee: Bind them about thy neck; Write them upon the tablet of thy heart:

³ Bind them upon thy fingers; Write them upon the tablet of thy heart.

²¹ Bind them continually upon thy heart; Tie them about thy neck.

³ being made manifest that ye are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in tables `that are' hearts of flesh.

¹ The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron, `and' with the point of a diamond: it is graven upon the tablet of their heart, and upon the horns of your altars;

⁸ And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thy hand, and they shall be for frontlets between thine eyes.

⁹ And it shall be for a sign unto thee upon thy hand, and for a memorial between thine eyes, that the law of Jehovah may be in thy mouth: for with a strong hand hath Jehovah brought thee out of Egypt.

²⁰ Whereas thou camest but yesterday, should I this day make thee go up and down with us, seeing I go whither I may? return thou, and take back thy brethren; mercy and truth be with thee.

⁹ For they shall be a chaplet of grace unto thy head, And chains about thy neck.

²⁸ Kindness and truth preserve the king; And his throne is upholden by kindness.

¹⁶ This is the covenant that I will make with them After those days, saith the Lord: I will put my laws on their heart, And upon their mind also will I write them; `then saith he,'

⁹ (for the fruit of the light is in all goodness and righteousness and truth),

¹⁰ All the paths of Jehovah are lovingkindness and truth Unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.

¹¹ Thy word have I laid up in my heart, That I might not sin against thee.

⁶ By mercy and truth iniquity is atoned for; And by the fear of Jehovah men depart from evil.

¹ Hear the word of Jehovah, ye children of Israel; for Jehovah hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor goodness, nor knowledge of God in the land.

¹⁸ Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth over the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in lovingkindness.

¹⁹ He will again have compassion upon us; he will tread our iniquities under foot; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

²⁰ Thou wilt perform the truth to Jacob, `and' the lovingkindness to Abraham, which thou hast sworn unto our fathers from the days of old.

⁶ The law of truth was in his mouth, and unrighteousness was not found in his lips: he walked with me in peace and uprightness, and turned many away from iniquity.

²³ Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye tithe mint and anise and cummin, and have left undone the weightier matters of the law, justice, and mercy, and faith: but these ye ought to have done, and not to have left the other undone.

¹ Be ye therefore imitators of God, as beloved children;

² and walk in love, even as Christ also loved you, and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for an odor of a sweet smell.

¹⁸ Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul; and ye shall bind them for a sign upon your hand, and they shall be for frontlets between your eyes.

¹⁹ And ye shall teach them your children, talking of them, when thou sittest in thy house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

²⁰ And thou shalt write them upon the door-posts of thy house, and upon thy gates;

²¹ that your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which Jehovah sware unto your fathers to give them, as the days of the heavens above the earth.
