³⁴ Surely he scoffeth at the scoffers; But he giveth grace unto the lowly.

⁶ But he giveth more grace. Wherefore `the scripture' saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace to the humble.

⁵ Likewise, ye younger, be subject unto the elder. Yea, all of you gird yourselves with humility, to serve one another: for God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace to the humble.

⁶ For though Jehovah is high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly; But the haughty he knoweth from afar.

¹² If thou art wise, thou art wise for thyself; And if thou scoffest, thou alone shalt bear it.

¹⁵ For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy: I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite.

²⁴ The proud and haughty man, scoffer is his name; He worketh in the arrogance of pride.

⁷ He that correcteth a scoffer getteth to himself reviling; And he that reproveth a wicked man `getteth' himself a blot.

⁸ Reprove not a scoffer, lest he hate thee: Reprove a wise man, and he will love thee.

²⁹ Judgments are prepared for scoffers, And stripes for the back of fools.
