¹⁴ He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, And herb for the service of man; That he may bring forth food out of the earth,

⁵ As for the earth, out of it cometh bread; And underneath it is turned up as it were by fire.

⁸ Who covereth the heavens with clouds, Who prepareth rain for the earth, Who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.

⁹ He giveth to the beast his food, `And' to the young ravens which cry.

²⁵ Who giveth food to all flesh; For his lovingkindness `endureth' for ever.

³ Every moving thing that liveth shall be food for you; As the green herb have I given you all.

¹⁸ thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;

⁷ So then neither is he that planteth anything, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.

²² Be not afraid, ye beasts of the field; for the pastures of the wilderness do spring, for the tree beareth its fruit, the fig-tree and the vine do yield their strength.

⁵ Yea, the hind also in the field calveth, and forsaketh `her young', because there is no grass.

⁶ And the wild asses stand on the bare heights, they pant for air like jackals; their eyes fail, because there is no herbage.

¹⁵ The eyes of all wait for thee; And thou givest them their food in due season.

¹⁶ Thou openest thy hand, And satisfiest the desire of every living thing.

²⁷ To satisfy the waste and desolate `ground', And to cause the tender grass to spring forth?

⁵ And Ahab said unto Obadiah, Go through the land, unto all the fountains of water, and unto all the brooks: peradventure we may find grass and save the horses and mules alive, that we lose not all the beasts.

¹² when thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee its strength; a fugitive and a wanderer shalt thou be in the earth.

⁹ And out of the ground made Jehovah God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

⁵ And no plant of the field was yet in the earth, and no herb of the field had yet sprung up; for Jehovah God had not caused it to rain upon the earth: and there was not a man to till the ground;

²⁹ And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb yielding seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for food:

³⁰ and to every beast of the earth, and to every bird of the heavens, and to everything that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, `I have given' every green herb for food: and it was so.

¹¹ And God said, Let the earth put forth grass, herbs yielding seed, `and' fruit-trees bearing fruit after their kind, wherein is the seed thereof, upon the earth: and it was so.

¹² And the earth brought forth grass, herbs yielding seed after their kind, and trees bearing fruit, wherein is the seed thereof, after their kind: and God saw that it was good.
