² Behold, as the eyes of servants `look' unto the hand of their master, As the eyes of a maid unto the hand of her mistress; So our eyes `look' unto Jehovah our God, Until he have mercy upon us.

¹ And he spake a parable unto them to the end that they ought always to pray, and not to faint;

⁵ I wait for Jehovah, my soul doth wait, And in his word do I hope.

⁶ My soul `waiteth' for the Lord More than watchmen `wait' for the morning; `Yea, more than' watchmen for the morning.

¹ I waited patiently for Jehovah; And he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.

² He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay; And he set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.

³ And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: Many shall see it, and fear, And shall trust in Jehovah.

²⁵ Jehovah is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.

²⁶ It is good that a man should hope and quietly wait for the salvation of Jehovah.

¹²³ Mine eyes fail for thy salvation, And for thy righteous word.

¹²⁴ Deal with thy servant according unto thy lovingkindness, And teach me thy statutes.

¹²⁵ I am thy servant; give me understanding, That I may know thy testimonies.

⁸² Mine eyes fail for thy word, While I say, When wilt thou comfort me?

¹⁵ Mine eyes are ever toward Jehovah; For he will pluck my feet out of the net.

⁶ And the men of Gibeon sent unto Joshua to the camp to Gilgal, saying, Slack not thy hand from thy servants; come up to us quickly, and save us, and help us: for all the kings of the Amorites that dwell in the hill-country are gathered together against us.

²⁷ And Joshua made them that day hewers of wood and drawers of water for the congregation, and for the altar of Jehovah, unto this day, in the place which he should choose.

²³ Now therefore ye are cursed, and there shall never fail to be of you bondmen, both hewers of wood and drawers of water for the house of my God.

¹⁸ I have waited for thy salvation, O Jehovah.

²⁶ And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.
