⁷ Make haste to answer me, O Jehovah; my spirit faileth: Hide not thy face from me, Lest I become like them that go down into the pit.

¹⁷ And hide not thy face from thy servant; For I am in distress; answer me speedily.

¹ Unto thee, O Jehovah, will I call: My rock, be not thou deaf unto me; Lest, if thou be silent unto me, I become like them that go down into the pit.

⁹ Hide not thy face from me; Put not thy servant away in anger: Thou hast been my help; Cast me not off, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.

²⁶ men fainting for fear, and for expectation of the things which are coming on the world: for the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.

¹⁶ For I will not contend for ever, neither will I be always wroth; for the spirit would faint before me, and the souls that I have made.

¹⁸ For Sheol cannot praise thee, death cannot celebrate thee: They that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth.

² Hide not thy face from me in the day of my distress: Incline thine ear unto me; In the day when I call answer me speedily.

¹⁰ Wilt thou show wonders to the dead? Shall they that are decreased arise and praise thee? Selah

¹¹ Shall thy lovingkindness be declared in the grave? Or thy faithfulness in Destruction?

⁴ I am reckoned with them that go down into the pit; I am as a man that hath no help,

⁵ Cast off among the dead, Like the slain that lie in the grave, Whom thou rememberest no more, And they are cut off from thy hand.

⁶ Thou hast laid me in the lowest pit, In dark places, in the deeps.

² My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of Jehovah; My heart and my flesh cry out unto the living God.

¹² O God, be not far from me; O my God, make haste to help me.

¹ How long, O Jehovah? wilt thou forget me for ever? How long wilt thou hide thy face from me?

² How long shall I take counsel in my soul, Having sorrow in my heart all the day? How long shall mine enemy be exalted over me?

³ Consider `and' answer me, O Jehovah my God: Lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the `sleep of' death;

⁴ Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him; `Lest' mine adversaries rejoice when I am moved.
