² `O my soul', thou hast said unto Jehovah, Thou art my Lord: I have no good beyond thee.

⁹ And I will bring the third part into the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried. They shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people; and they shall say, Jehovah is my God.

² I will say of Jehovah, He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in whom I trust.

²⁵ Whom have I in heaven `but thee'? And there is none upon earth that I desire besides thee.

¹⁴ But I trusted in thee, O Jehovah: I said, Thou art my God.

²⁸ Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.

¹⁰ Even so ye also, when ye shall have done all the things that are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants; we have done that which it was our duty to do.

⁵ One shall say, I am Jehovah's; and another shall call `himself' by the name of Jacob; and another shall subscribe with his hand unto Jehovah, and surname `himself' by the name of Israel.

¹³ O Jehovah our God, other lords besides thee have had dominion over us; but by thee only will we make mention of thy name.

²⁶ He shall cry unto me, Thou art my Father, My God, and the rock of my salvation.

⁹ I will take no bullock out of thy house, Nor he-goats out of thy folds.

¹⁰ For every beast of the forest is mine, And the cattle upon a thousand hills.

⁸ `When thou saidst', Seek ye my face; My heart said unto thee, Thy face, Jehovah, will I seek.

¹ O Jehovah, our Lord, How excellent is thy name in all the earth, Who hast set thy glory upon the heavens!

⁷ If thou be righteous, what givest thou him? Or what receiveth he of thy hand?

⁸ Thy wickedness `may hurt' a man as thou art; And thy righteousness `may profit' a son of man.

² Can a man be profitable unto God? Surely he that is wise is profitable unto himself.

³ Is it any pleasure to the Almighty, that thou art righteous? Or is it gain `to him', that thou makest thy ways perfect?

³⁵ or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?
