³ Who shall ascend into the hill of Jehovah? And who shall stand in his holy place?

¹ Jehovah, who shall sojourn in thy tabernacle? Who shall dwell in thy holy hill?

¹ Behold, I send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, will suddenly come to his temple; and the messenger of the covenant, whom ye desire, behold, he cometh, saith Jehovah of hosts.

¹⁸ Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led away captives; Thou hast received gifts among men, Yea, `among' the rebellious also, that Jehovah God might dwell `with them'.

⁶ Yet I have set my king Upon my holy hill of Zion.

²⁸ Wherefore, receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us have grace, whereby we may offer service well-pleasing to God with reverence and awe:

²² but ye are come unto mount Zion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable hosts of angels,

²³ to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

²⁴ and to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaketh better than `that of' Abel.

⁸ Wherefore he saith, When he ascended on high, he led captivity captive, And gave gifts unto men.

⁹ (Now this, He ascended, what is it but that he also descended into the lower parts of the earth?

¹⁰ He that descended is the same also that ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.)

¹⁷ Jesus saith to her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended unto the Father: but go unto my brethren, and say to them, I ascend unto my Father and your Father, and my God and your God.

³⁶ Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, whither goest thou? Jesus answered, Whither I go, thou canst not follow now; but thou shalt follow afterwards.

¹³ For Jehovah hath chosen Zion; He hath desired it for his habitation.

¹⁴ This is my resting-place for ever: Here will I dwell; for I have desired it.

⁶⁸ But chose the tribe of Judah, The mount Zion which he loved.

⁶⁹ And he built his sanctuary like the heights, Like the earth which he hath established for ever.

¹⁵ A mountain of God is the mountain of Bashan; A high mountain is the mountain of Bashan.

¹⁶ Why look ye askance, ye high mountains, At the mountain which God hath desired for his abode? Yea, Jehovah will dwell `in it' for ever.

⁴ Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach `unto thee', That he may dwell in thy courts: We shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, Thy holy temple.

²⁵ So David, and the elders of Israel, and the captains over thousands, went to bring up the ark of the covenant of Jehovah out of the house of Obed-edom with joy.

²⁶ And it came to pass, when God helped the Levites that bare the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, that they sacrificed seven bullocks and seven rams.

²⁷ And David was clothed with a robe of fine linen, and all the Levites that bare the ark, and the singers, and Chenaniah the master of the song `with' the singers: and David had upon him an ephod of linen.

²⁸ Thus all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of Jehovah with shouting, and with sound of the cornet, and with trumpets, and with cymbals, sounding aloud with psalteries and harps.

¹ And `David' made him houses in the city of David; and he prepared a place for the ark of God, and pitched for it a tent.

¹² And it was told king David, saying, Jehovah hath blessed the house of Obed-edom, and all that pertaineth unto him, because of the ark of God. And David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-edom into the city of David with joy.

¹³ And it was so, that, when they that bare the ark of Jehovah had gone six paces, he sacrificed an ox and a fatling.

¹⁴ And David danced before Jehovah with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod.

¹⁵ So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of Jehovah with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet.

¹⁶ And it was so, as the ark of Jehovah came into the city of David, that Michal the daughter of Saul looked out at the window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before Jehovah; and she despised him in her heart.

¹⁷ And they brought in the ark of Jehovah, and set it in its place, in the midst of the tent that David had pitched for it; and David offered burnt-offerings and peace-offerings before Jehovah.

³ Then Moses said unto Aaron, This is it that Jehovah spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will be glorified. And Aaron held his peace.
