¹ Unto thee, O Jehovah, will I call: My rock, be not thou deaf unto me; Lest, if thou be silent unto me, I become like them that go down into the pit.

¹ O God, keep not thou silence: Hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God.

² Jehovah is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; My God, my rock, in whom I will take refuge; My shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower.

⁷ Make haste to answer me, O Jehovah; my spirit faileth: Hide not thy face from me, Lest I become like them that go down into the pit.

¹² Let us swallow them up alive as Sheol, And whole, as those that go down into the pit;

⁴ I am reckoned with them that go down into the pit; I am as a man that hath no help,

⁵ Cast off among the dead, Like the slain that lie in the grave, Whom thou rememberest no more, And they are cut off from thy hand.

⁶ Thou hast laid me in the lowest pit, In dark places, in the deeps.

²² Thou hast seen it, O Jehovah; keep not silence: O Lord, be not far from me.

³ and cast him into the abyss, and shut `it', and sealed `it' over him, that he should deceive the nations no more, until the thousand years should be finished: after this he must be loosed for a little time.

¹⁸ For Sheol cannot praise thee, death cannot celebrate thee: They that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth.

⁴ Trust ye in Jehovah for ever; for in Jehovah, `even' Jehovah, is an everlasting rock.

¹ I cry with my voice unto Jehovah; With my voice unto Jehovah do I make supplication.

¹ I will cry unto God with my voice, Even unto God with my voice; and he will give ear unto me.

¹⁵ Let not the waterflood overwhelm me, Neither let the deep shallow me up; And let not the pit shut its mouth upon me.

⁹ I will say unto God my rock, Why hast thou forgotten me? Why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?

¹² Hear my prayer, O Jehovah, and give ear unto my cry; Hold not thy peace at my tears: For I am a stranger with thee, A sojourner, as all my fathers were.

⁹ What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth?

² O my God, I cry in the daytime, but thou answerest not; And in the night season, and am not silent.

² Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God; For unto thee do I pray.

⁴ I cry unto Jehovah with my voice, And he answereth me out of his holy hill. Selah

²⁸ He hath redeemed my soul from going into the pit, And my life shall behold the light.
