⁵ Because they regard not the works of Jehovah, Nor the operation of his hands, He will break them down and not build them up.

¹² And the harp and the lute, the tabret and the pipe, and wine, are `in' their feasts; but they regard not the work of Jehovah, neither have they considered the operation of his hands.

⁸ Distil, ye heavens, from above, and let the skies pour down righteousness: let the earth open, that it may bring forth salvation, and let it cause righteousness to spring up together; I, Jehovah, have created it.

¹² I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens; and all their host have I commanded.

¹⁸ For thus saith Jehovah that created the heavens, the God that formed the earth and made it, that established it and created it not a waste, that formed it to be inhabited: I am Jehovah; and there is none else.

¹² He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and by his understanding hath he stretched out the heavens:

¹³ when he uttereth his voice, there is a tumult of waters in the heavens, and he causeth the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings for the rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasuries.

⁴ Again will I build thee, and thou shalt be built, O virgin of Israel: again shalt thou be adorned with thy tabrets, and shalt go forth in the dances of them that make merry.

²⁰ who didst set signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, even unto this day, both in Israel and among `other' men; and madest thee a name, as at this day;

²¹ and didst bring forth thy people Israel out of the land of Egypt with signs, and with wonders, and with a strong hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with great terror;

⁹ Who is wise, that he may understand these things? prudent, that he may know them? for the ways of Jehovah are right, and the just shall walk in them; but transgressors shall fall therein.

³⁷ But though he had done so many signs before them, yet they believed not on him:

²⁰ For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, `even' his everlasting power and divinity; that they may be without excuse:

²⁸ And even as they refused to have God in `their' knowledge, God gave them up unto a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not fitting;

¹⁹ and what the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to that working of the strength of his might

²⁰ which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly `places',

²¹ far above all rule, and authority, and power, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:

²⁶ Lift up your eyes on high, and see who hath created these, that bringeth out their host by number; he calleth them all by name; by the greatness of his might, and for that he is strong in power, not one is lacking.

⁹ With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee earnestly: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.

¹⁰ Let favor be showed to the wicked, yet will he not learn righteousness; in the land of uprightness will he deal wrongfully, and will not behold the majesty of Jehovah.

¹¹ Jehovah, thy hand is lifted up, yet they see not: but they shall see `thy' zeal for the people, and be put to shame; yea, fire shall devour thine adversaries.

¹³ He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom for ever.

²⁷ For thou, O Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, hast revealed to thy servant, saying, I will build thee a house: therefore hath thy servant found in his heart to pray this prayer unto thee.

³⁸ And it shall be, if thou wilt hearken unto all that I command thee, and wilt walk in my ways, and do that which is right in mine eyes, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as David my servant did; that I will be with thee, and will build thee a sure house, as I built for David, and will give Israel unto thee.

²⁶ He striketh them as wicked men In the open sight of others;

²⁷ Because they turned aside from following him, And would not have regard in any of his ways:

³ When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, The moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;

⁵ His ways are firm at all times; Thy judgments are far above out of his sight: As for all his adversaries, he puffeth at them.

¹ The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament showeth his handiwork.

² Day unto day uttereth speech, And night unto night showeth knowledge.

⁴ For thou, Jehovah, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands.

⁵ How great are thy works, O Jehovah! Thy thoughts are very deep.

⁶ A brutish man knoweth not; Neither doth a fool understand this:

²⁴ O Jehovah, how manifold are thy works! In wisdom hast thou made them all: The earth is full of thy riches.

² The works of Jehovah are great, Sought out of all them that have pleasure therein.

³ His work is honor and majesty; And his righteousness endureth for ever.

⁴ He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: Jehovah is gracious and merciful.

¹¹ ye made also a reservoir between the two walls for the water of the old pool. But ye looked not unto him that had done this, neither had ye respect unto him that purposed it long ago.

²³ Surely there is no enchantment with Jacob; Neither is there any divination with Israel: Now shalt it be said of Jacob and of Israel, What hath God wrought!
