⁵ For his anger is but for a moment; His favor is for a life-time: Weeping may tarry for the night, But joy `cometh' in the morning.

⁷ For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee.

⁸ In overflowing wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting lovingkindness will I have mercy on thee, saith Jehovah thy Redeemer.

¹⁷ For our light affliction, which is for the moment, worketh for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory;

⁹ He will not always chide; Neither will he keep `his anger' for ever.

²⁰ Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.

⁶ I am weary with my groaning; Every night make I my bed to swim; I water my couch with my tears.

⁷ Mine eye wasteth away because of grief; It waxeth old because of all mine adversaries.

⁸ Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity; For Jehovah hath heard the voice of my weeping.

⁹ Jehovah hath heard my supplication; Jehovah will receive my prayer.

²⁰ Verily, verily, I say unto you, that ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.

²¹ A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but when she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for the joy that a man is born into the world.

²² And ye therefore now have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no one taketh away from you.

⁹ I now rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye were made sorry unto repentance; for ye were made sorry after a godly sort, that ye might suffer loss by us in nothing.

¹⁰ For godly sorrow worketh repentance unto salvation, `a repentance' which bringeth no regret: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

¹¹ Thou wilt show me the path of life: In thy presence is fulness of joy; In thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 17 A Prayer of David.

⁴ Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

⁵ They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.

⁶ He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing seed for sowing, Shall doubtless come again with joy, bringing his sheaves `with him'. Psalm 127 A Song of Ascents; of Solomon.

⁸ Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; For in thee do I trust: Cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; For I lift up my soul unto thee.

³ And let us know, let us follow on to know Jehovah: his going forth is sure as the morning; and he will come unto us as the rain, as the latter rain that watereth the earth.

³ and said, Remember now, O Jehovah, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.

⁴ Then came the word of Jehovah to Isaiah, saying,

⁵ Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith Jehovah, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.

³ Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, My lips shall praise thee.

¹⁶ But I will sing of thy strength; Yea, I will sing aloud of thy lovingkindness in the morning: For thou hast been my high tower, And a refuge in the day of my distress.

⁵ God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God will help her, and that right early.

²⁴ And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day.

⁸ Thou numberest my wanderings: Put thou my tears into thy bottle; Are they not in thy book?

⁹ Then shall mine enemies turn back in the day that I call: This I know, that God is for me.

¹⁰ In God (I will praise `his' word), In Jehovah (I will praise `his' word),

¹¹ In God have I put my trust, I will not be afraid; What can man do unto me?

¹⁷ But the lovingkindness of Jehovah is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, And his righteousness unto children's children;

¹⁵ For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy: I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite.

¹⁶ For I will not contend for ever, neither will I be always wroth; for the spirit would faint before me, and the souls that I have made.

¹ And he showed me a river of water of life, bright as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb,

¹⁷ And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And he that heareth, let him say, Come. And he that is athirst, let him come: he that will, let him take the water of life freely.

⁷ How precious is thy lovingkindness, O God! And the children of men take refuge under the shadow of thy wings.

⁸ They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; And thou wilt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.

⁹ For with thee is the fountain of life: In thy light shall we see light.
