¹² For innumerable evils have compassed me about; Mine iniquities have overtaken me, so that I am not able to look up; They are more than the hairs of my head; And my heart hath failed me.

²⁶ My flesh and my heart faileth; `But' God is the strength of my heart and my portion for ever.

⁴ They that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of my head: They that would cut me off, being mine enemies wrongfully, are mighty: That which I took not away I have to restore.

⁴ For mine iniquities are gone over my head: As a heavy burden they are too heavy for me.

³ The cords of death compassed me, And the pains of Sheol gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow.

¹² Who can discern `his' errors? Clear thou me from hidden `faults'.

¹⁸ Because Christ also suffered for sins once, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God; being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;

¹⁵ For we have not a high priest that cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but one that hath been in all points tempted like as `we are, yet' without sin.

²⁶ men fainting for fear, and for expectation of the things which are coming on the world: for the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.

¹³ But the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote his breast, saying, God, be thou merciful to me a sinner.

¹⁴ I say unto you, This man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be humbled; but he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

⁶ All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and Jehovah hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

¹¹ Be not far from me; for trouble is near; For there is none to help.

¹² Many bulls have compassed me; Strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round.

¹³ They gape upon me with their mouth, `As' a ravening and a roaring lion.

¹⁴ I am poured out like water, And all my bones are out of joint: My heart is like wax; It is melted within me.

¹⁵ My strength is dried up like a potsherd; And my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; And thou hast brought me into the dust of death.

¹⁶ For dogs have compassed me: A company of evil-doers have inclosed me; They pierced my hands and my feet.

¹⁷ I may count all my bones; They look and stare upon me.

¹⁸ They part my garments among them, And upon my vesture do they cast lots.

¹⁹ But be not thou far off, O Jehovah: O thou my succor, haste thee to help me.

²⁸ And he said unto his brethren, My money is restored; and, lo, it is even in my sack: and their heart failed them, and they turned trembling one to another, saying, What is this that God hath done unto us?
