¹⁷ The poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst; I, Jehovah, will answer them, I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them.

⁵ But I am poor and needy; Make haste unto me, O God: Thou art my help and my deliverer; O Jehovah, make no tarrying.

⁷ casting all your anxiety upon him, because he careth for you.

⁶ So that with good courage we say, The Lord is my helper; I will not fear: What shall man do unto me?

⁵ Many, O Jehovah my God, are the wonderful works which thou hast done, And thy thoughts which are to us-ward; They cannot be set in order unto thee; If I would declare and speak of them, They are more than can be numbered.

⁶ This poor man cried, and Jehovah heard him, And saved him out of all his troubles.

⁴ Behold, God is my helper: The Lord is of them that uphold my soul.

²⁰ He who testifieth these things saith, Yea: I come quickly. Amen: come, Lord Jesus.

²³ who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered threatened not; but committed `himself' to him that judgeth righteously:

⁵ Hearken, my beloved brethren; did not God choose them that are poor as to the world `to be' rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he promised to them that love him?

⁹ For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might become rich.

²⁰ And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the heaven `have' nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.

⁷ For the Lord Jehovah will help me; therefore have I not been confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be put to shame.

⁸ He is near that justifieth me; who will content with me? let us stand up together: who is mine adversary? let him come near to me.

⁹ Behold, the Lord Jehovah will help me; who is he that shall condemn me? behold, all they shall wax old as a garment, the moth shall eat them up.

⁷ Make haste to answer me, O Jehovah; my spirit faileth: Hide not thy face from me, Lest I become like them that go down into the pit.

⁸ Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; For in thee do I trust: Cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; For I lift up my soul unto thee.

²² For I am poor and needy, And my heart is wounded within me.

¹ Bow down thine ear, O Jehovah, and answer me; For I am poor and needy.

³³ For Jehovah heareth the needy, And despiseth not his prisoners.
