¹⁹ That thou hast sore broken us in the place of jackals, And covered us with the shadow of death.

⁵ Let darkness and the shadow of death claim it for their own; Let a cloud dwell upon it; Let all that maketh black the day terrify it.

⁸ Make me to hear joy and gladness, That the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.

⁴ Yea, thou I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.

¹⁰ And the fifth poured out his bowl upon the throne of the beast; and his kingdom was darkened; and they gnawed their tongues for pain,

¹¹ And I saw another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like unto lamb, and he spake as a dragon.

¹² And he exerciseth all the authority of the first beast in his sight. And he maketh the earth and them dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose death-stroke was healed.

¹³ And he doeth great signs, that he should even make fire to come down out of heaven upon the earth in the sight of men.

² And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as `the feet' of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his throne, and great authority.

⁹ And the great dragon was cast down, the old serpent, he that is called the Devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world; he was cast down to the earth, and his angels were cast down with him.

¹⁶ The people that sat in darkness Saw a great light, And to them that sat in the region and shadow of death, To them did light spring up.

³ speak, and say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against thee, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great monster that lieth in the midst of his rivers, that hath said, My river is mine own, and I have made it for myself.

¹⁷ And thou shalt say this word unto them, Let mine eyes run down with tears night and day, and let them not cease; for the virgin daughter of my people is broken with a great breach, with a very grievous wound.

⁷ And the glowing sand shall become a pool, and the thirsty ground springs of water: in the habitation of jackals, where they lay, shall be grass with reeds and rushes.

¹³ And thorns shall come up in its palaces, nettles and thistles in the fortresses thereof; and it shall be a habitation of jackals, a court for ostriches.

¹⁴ And the wild beasts of the desert shall meet with the wolves, and the wild goat shall cry to his fellow; yea, the night-monster shall settle there, and shall find her a place of rest.

¹ In that day Jehovah with his hard and great and strong sword will punish leviathan the swift serpent, and leviathan the crooked serpent; and he will slay the monster that is in the sea.

¹³ Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength: Thou brakest the heads of the sea-monsters in the waters.

¹⁴ Thou brakest the heads of leviathan in pieces; Thou gavest him to be food to the people inhabiting the wilderness.

¹ O God thou hast cast us off, thou hast broken us down; Thou hast been angry; oh restore us again.

² Thou hast made the land to tremble; thou hast rent it: Heal the breaches thereof; for it shaketh.

³ Thou hast showed thy people hard things: Thou hast made us to drink the wine of staggering.

⁸ I am faint and sore bruised: I have groaned by reason of the disquietness of my heart.

²⁹ I am a brother to jackals, And a companion to ostriches.

²¹ Before I go whence I shall not return, `Even' to the land of darkness and of the shadow of death;

²² The land dark as midnight, `The land' of the shadow of death, without any order, And where the light is as midnight.
