³ Our God cometh, and doth not keep silence: A fire devoureth before him, And it is very tempestuous round about him.

¹⁰ A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousands of thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.

³⁵ And fire came forth from Jehovah, and devoured the two hundred and fifty men that offered the incense.

² And there came forth fire from before Jehovah, and devoured them, and they died before Jehovah.

² But who can abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fuller's soap:

³ and he will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver, and he will purify the sons of Levi, and refine them as gold and silver; and they shall offer unto Jehovah offerings in righteousness.

¹ For, behold, the day cometh, it burneth as a furnace; and all the proud, and all that work wickedness, shall be stubble; and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith Jehovah of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

¹² whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly cleanse his threshing-floor; and he will gather his wheat into the garner, but the chaff he will burn up with unquenchable fire.

⁸ rendering vengeance to them that know not God, and to them that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus:

⁹ who shall suffer punishment, `even' eternal destruction from the face of the Lord and from the glory of his might,

³ how shall we escape, if we neglect so great a salvation? which having at the first been spoken through the Lord, was confirmed unto us by them that heard;

²⁸ A man that hath set at nought Moses law dieth without compassion on `the word of' two or three witnesses:

²⁹ of how much sorer punishment, think ye, shall he be judged worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant wherewith he was sanctified an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

¹⁸ For ye are not come unto `a mount' that might be touched, and that burned with fire, and unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest,

¹⁹ and the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which `voice' they that heard entreated that no word more should be spoken unto them;

²⁰ for they could not endure that which was enjoined, If even a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned;

²¹ and so fearful was the appearance, `that' Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake:

²⁹ for our God is a consuming fire.

²⁰ He who testifieth these things saith, Yea: I come quickly. Amen: come, Lord Jesus.

⁵ Before him went the pestilence, And fiery bolts went forth at his feet.

⁵ The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt; and the earth is upheaved at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein.

⁶ Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his wrath is poured out like fire, and the rocks are broken asunder by him.

⁷ Jehovah is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that take refuge in him.

³ Know therefore this day, that Jehovah thy God is he who goeth over before thee as a devouring fire; he will destroy them, and he will bring them down before thee: so shalt thou drive them out, and make them to perish quickly, as Jehovah hath spoken unto thee.

¹¹ And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before Jehovah. And, behold, Jehovah passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before Jehovah; but Jehovah was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but Jehovah was not in the earthquake:

¹² and after the earthquake a fire; but Jehovah was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.

⁷ Then the earth shook and trembled; The foundations also of the mountains quaked And were shaken, because he was wroth.

⁸ There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, And fire out of his mouth devoured: Coals were kindled by it.

⁹ He bowed the heavens also, and came down; And thick darkness was under his feet.

¹⁰ And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly; Yea, he soared upon the wings of the wind.

¹¹ He made darkness his hiding-place, his pavilion round about him, Darkness of waters, thick clouds of the skies.

¹² At the brightness before him his thick clouds passed, Hailstones and coals of fire.

¹³ Jehovah also thundered in the heavens, And the Most High uttered his voice, Hailstones and coals of fire.

¹⁴ And he sent out his arrows, and scattered them; Yea, lightnings manifold, and discomfited them.

¹⁵ Then the channels of waters appeared, And the foundations of the world were laid bare, At thy rebuke, O Jehovah, At the blast of the breath of thy nostrils.

²¹ These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; Thou thoughtest that I was altogether such a one as thyself: `But' I will reprove thee, and set `them' in order before thine eyes.

²⁰ God is unto us a God of deliverances; And unto Jehovah the Lord belongeth escape from death.

¹ O God, keep not thou silence: Hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God.

¹³ Before Jehovah; for he cometh, For he cometh to judge the earth: He will judge the world with righteousness, And the peoples with his truth.

³ A fire goeth before him, And burneth up his adversaries round about.

⁴ His lightnings lightened the world: The earth saw, and trembled.

⁵ The mountains melted like wax at the presence of Jehovah, At the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.

¹³ Jehovah will go forth as a mighty man; he will stir up `his' zeal like a man of war: he will cry, yea, he will shout aloud; he will do mightily against his enemies.

¹⁴ I have long time holden my peace; I have been still, and refrained myself: `now' will I cry out like a travailing woman; I will gasp and pant together.

⁶ Behold, it is written before me: I will not keep silence, but will recompense, yea, I will recompense into their bosom,

⁷ your own iniquities, and the iniquities of your fathers together, saith Jehovah, that have burned incense upon the mountains, and blasphemed me upon the hills; therefore will I first measure their work into their bosom.

¹⁸ And mount Sinai, the whole of it, smoked, because Jehovah descended upon it in fire; and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly.
