¹⁷ And hide not thy face from thy servant; For I am in distress; answer me speedily.

⁹ Hide not thy face from me; Put not thy servant away in anger: Thou hast been my help; Cast me not off, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.

² Hide not thy face from me in the day of my distress: Incline thine ear unto me; In the day when I call answer me speedily.

⁴⁶ And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

³⁸ Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: abide ye here, and watch with me.

⁹ Deliver me, O Jehovah, from mine enemies: I flee unto thee to hide me.

⁷ Make haste to answer me, O Jehovah; my spirit faileth: Hide not thy face from me, Lest I become like them that go down into the pit.

¹ `Make haste', O God, to deliver me; Make haste to help me, O Jehovah.

¹⁴ Which my lips uttered, And my mouth spake, when I was in distress.

²⁴ Wherefore hidest thou thy face, And forgettest our affliction and our oppression?

¹³ Be pleased, O Jehovah, to deliver me: Make haste to help me, O Jehovah.

²⁴ For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; Neither hath he hid his face from him; But when he cried unto him, he heard.

¹ How long, O Jehovah? wilt thou forget me for ever? How long wilt thou hide thy face from me?

²¹ And why dost thou not pardon my transgression, and take away mine iniquity? For now shall I lie down in the dust; And thou wilt seek me diligently, but I shall not be.
